so you want to find a religion that will conform to what you think God is or should be, rather than conforming your life to what God wants for you?

I respect your desire not to be a JW or Mormon. There are many issues here that I would need to talk to you about. The short answer is that I do not know a church or a cult of any sort that you would feel comfortable in. Not believing in Jesus being God is a big problem. Why don't you believe Jesus is God when He said that He was and proved it?

The Holy Bible was not actually "written by God," but God inspired all 66 books contained in the Old and New Testament.
The Holy Bible was written about the God of Israel and his Son, Jesus. It sounds to me like you believe in a different god or higher power, but not the God of the Bible. If you believed in the God of the Holy Bible, you would read it and believe what it says.
2 Cor. 6:15-16 says, ". . .what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from them and be separate."

I don't share in any of your beliefs then. but you sound like a JW, Mormon or non-denominational-non-sectal (not protestant, not Catholic, not Orthodox).
I do believe Jesus is God, as He made many claims about His Divinity
-"I am in the father and the Father is in me"
-"before Abraham was, I am!"
-"Tempt ye not your God"
- the account of Mark 12:35-40
-He did not rebuke Thomas for calling Him God
I believe the Scriptures were God-breathed, and so correct. Errors help to show that God can use humans to do extra-ordinary things, that many facets make up one diamond, and that only God is perfect.

I'd say you are a cross between Buddist and maybe Muslim, due to your standing on the bible and Jesus. It's difficult to say, but I would think you would fit in well in some sort of pagan or wiccan religion, but unfortunately, you would probably feel like a witch (although most witches don't think it derogatory to be named a witch) There is a quiz on beliefnet.com that is specifically for the purpose of helping you find what religion best matches your beliefs:

Give it a try, hope you figure things out.

First of all, you are not a misfit because you don't agree with the majority. Best thing for you is to be who you are and be happy with it. You sound like you have a feeling to 'belong'. I can't help you there. I am happy just being me and having others accept that. If people don't then that's their problem not mine.

See if you can convince hubby to give the Unitarian church a try. You would fit in perfectly. They have no doctrine that people must believe in.

What you want is good like-minded friends, not a church. You might want to question your belief that a congregation has much of a sense of belonging.

I'm a Buddhist who used to be Catholic and am married to an atheist whose son is Jewish.....you're not alone, nor are you a misfit. Do/believe what feels right for you. That is most important.

Okay. So, basically you have decided to not believe in anything. You want your happy little fake religion and want nothing but sunshine and butterflies. I think that is a super idea. I think it will get you a long way on judgment day. Good luck with that.
