Hello, well first a feeding & water schedule, pups 2 - 3 times a day..fully grown even once a day is OK..food & water only down for 15 minutes..then wait till the next meal time, they generally go about 20-30 minutes after eating & when they've had play times..also a crate, or secured area - just a bit bigger then the dog... if you can & she isn't too big, carry her to the spot you want her to use or leash her to keep her from her old potty places in the home...give her bout 15 minutes to go, if she don't back to the crate or pen ...if she goes as she should lots of praise & love .. some play time, etc..if she has an accident ..pick it up & take it & her to where she's suppose to go..gotta wait till she's done with the accident..you chase, she will run, leaving a bigger mess & making her afraid of you ! As for the constant am not sure your meaning, if she seems unable to control her urine or is excessively & unquenchably thirsty, that 's a sign of illness & she needs a VET ASAP !! Take Care :)

Mats are teaching the dog to potty IN your house. The dog doesn't care if it smells like grass - the dog just knows that it's okay to potty inside - THAT'S A BAD THING!

Start housebreaking your pet. Take it outside 1/2 hour after every meal, and at least once an hour or so to relieve itself. When the dog potties outside pretend you just won the lottery - praise praise praise!

Pick up the mats and start training your dog. Mats are confusing it.

what kind of dog and how old? You realllly dont want your dog learning to go potty inside even if it is on a mat. You can take classes to learn how to potty train her. if she is going potty constantly (im not sure what that means) there may be a urinary problem. if you mean like every 1/2 hour or so...thats normal in young pups..get a crate and crate train her...thats the quickest an most surefire way to potty train...take her to puppy school

newspapers, mats, etc., don't work. they just teach the dog that it's ok to go inside sometimes - especially if they get treats for doing it. you need to take puppy or a dog your housebreaking out like once an hour. take her out every time she ends an "activity," for instance after she eats, after plays, after she wakes up, etc. you'll probably have to get up a few times in the night, too, until it takes. then, give her a treat when she goes OUTSIDE. it will be tiring for a few weeks, but that's all it should take, and then you won't have to worry about it any more.

If the puppy is below 6 months of age you have to be patient, she just can't control herself just yet. I recomend you get a kennel to place her in when you are away from home. Although many pet owners feel bad that they are putting the animals in cages it allows them to feel safe and not go all over your house. In fact, dogs will not even go inside the kennel because it's against thier instinct to poop where they sleep. Then when you get home you can show them the correct place to poop. Kennels, almost manditory for when you have a puppy =P

the best thing to do is get her on schedule. Right after she eats, take her outside until she uses it. Then bring her back in. After awhile she will become accustomed to going out.

When I trained my dog. Right after his meal I would say "outside' and take him out. I would take him out of the same door all of the time. Whenever i said "OUTSIDE" he would then go to the door if he had to use it.

My dog was a very tempermental cocker spaniel and he trained well with very few mistakes.

I hope this helps. And be patient, It will take a few weeks to get used to it.

when my puppy wet the floor i would stick her nose in it and say "bad dog" because she would wet the floor after she came in from outside. my parents said that she smeeled where i had my cats litterbox when i had a cat was. it may sound mean but it only took her about a week and she learned that she needs to go outside.
