I've met some Catholics who apparently limit themselves to these genres of music.

I'm glad to know that Catholics are not limited to certain genres of music. Music is a gift from God. I too enjoy many different types of music. I guess the people I've met who limit themselves to certain types of music are just more conservative.

That's not a Catholic rule of any sort. There are no liturgical restrictions on the sorts of music one may listen to.

While some Catholics, and indeed people of other faiths as well, may limit their musical choices, this is by no means universal among Catholics.

Too, one might take note of the fact that some Classical music is non-Christian in nature.

Besides the few people you have met that limit themselves to these types of music, what could possible make you think that this would apply to all Roman Catholics?
I doubt very highly that what type of music a person listens to has anything to do with what their religion is. With the possible exception of some of the more, shall we say, strict sects of some Christian faiths.

Yeah right! I was raised Roman Catholic and mother listened to country music. My husband (also catholic) listens to Hispanic music. I listen to top 40, country, pretty much anything. It's not all Roman Catholics just some people are more conservative than others. There is nothing wrong with limiting it after all we do have the freedom to listen to whatever we want right?

I have no idea who you have met, but like anyone, everyone has their tastes in music. IF you are asking do Catholics listen to rap, YES, and every other kind of music. So far, the Catholic church has not stuck its nose into music...that if for next week.

I was born and raised Catholic, and the answer is a resounding: No. I like all kinds of music from rock to pop to some country and even some classical, but I'd be very unhappy if I had to limit myself to only certain types of music.

No, that's really a generalization. My Catholic friends and relatives listen to all types of music - except "church music."

i'm Catholic, and that i've got not any clue what your Spanish instructor is speaking approximately. in line with probability that's a Spanish subject, celebrating the two your birthday and the banquet day of your consumer saint? that's the only subject i will think of of, is that that's related to Hispanic subculture. through fact I in undemanding terms celebrate the day on which i became into born.

I have my own band. I like "traditional" styles for liturgical purposes, but I play just about every style, including blends of Eastern styles with metal edged music.

¿What kind of question is this one? I really love to listen rock, pop, jazz, country and classical music. I mean, Bach's works is the most beautiful art I can imagine but Van Hallen's is so, so good... In my curch I sing Simon&Garfunkel and Bob Dylan's melodies. And Wagner. but, at home, I really enjoy AC DC!!!

Kisses
