A. Scott Berg had Katharine Hepburns approval to write this book...he spent much time with her...and much of the book is her own words. Mr. Berg also interviewed employees, friends, co-workers and much of the book contains stories of their interaction with her. Mr. Berg likewise wrote about his conversations with Ms. Hepburn and brought his interpretation of the stories into the writings after studying her papers, contracts, etc...
So, this book is "inspired" by Katharine Hepburn, but written by A. Scott Berg. Is everything in this book exactly as it happened? Probably not...many musings were stories told by others of their interpretation of events...many musings are Mr. Bergs thoughts about the lady.
II Timothy 3:16 says all scripture is given by inspiration of God...likewise the Bible was inspired by God...but, written by human beings. Why can you not realize that these authors brought into their writings their own ideas, prejudices and customs of the day into their book.

The stories in the Bible were handed down..many times through unwritten stories handed down from generation to generation...
The Bible was not written by God..but, inspired by God...why can't fundamentalists accept this fact and accept the Bible for what it is....not God's specific words...but, humans words about God...

problem in your logic: one could presumably verify Berg's ties with Hepburn. Hepburn herself may have endorsed Berg's works independently of Berg saying so himself.
We have no such verification with the bible. we don't even know its authers or their intentions, let alone whether any diety endorsed them.

My heavens, I never have been flashed, but I did unintentionally flash a few folks once. I was in the hospital some time back and decided to take a stoll to the vending area. Well, I wasn't thinking about what I was wearing and, let's just say that those hospital gowns don't leave a lot to the imagination on the backside. The nurse came up from behind me and put a blanket over my shoulders . . . I was wondering why it was a little drafty back there!

Good points. I don't think the authors of the Bible had God litteraly breath the words into them or put them into some transe. I think all the authors of the Bible (old and new testaments) were men of the highest Godly, Christian characters. There was not one author that had any form of questionable charastics of a Godly person. I believe we can trust the faith in God of the authors of the Bible. Most of all I believe the authors of the "approved" books of the Bible were men that told the truth of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God most certainly approved of these men 100%. I think that is what inspired means to me.

There is absolutely not one shred of evidence that the bible was Inspired by God, and we are expected to believe that because a MAN said It was, I believe religion was created by schizophrenics because God has never inspired or said anything to a human being, he created mankind, and every other living thing on this planet, and he certainly dose not write books like so many want to believe.

Because it is God inspired. Writen by men "under the influence" (pardon the pun) of the Holy Spirit. Not man writing about the life of some woman. Apples and oranges

Katherine Hepburn is hardly God. The inspiration of God is not idle dribbings of a man's perspective of God but true inspiration from him, it is indeed the word of God. The author of the Bible is God.
edit I understood that you were not comparing Hepburn to God but I made that comparison myself to demonstrate her inspiration is not the same as the inspiration one would receive from a perfect God.

So your point is????? Oh, I see, you feel it necessary to bash beliefs you don't hold yourself. How novel. If you don't believe, fine, I don't care, and I certainly don't need to hear your justification for not believing the bible is the inspired word of God. Although you seem to think your opinion is relevant, I can't figure out why.

No, the Bible is a selection of tales and legends inspired by bronze age middle eastern goat herders.

No. The Bible was written (or at least dictated) by God. Um, even so God is MUCH more knowledgeable than Kate Hepburn.

Partly correct. Jesus is the Word of God. Jesus is the only true bread (word of God) and the word was made flesh. Those who come in the name of Jesus, but do not speak the words that he spoke, are not of God.
These are my words, it is my hope that I can arouse enough curiosity in you to read the Words of Jesus for your self, the words Jesus spoke are with power, mine are not.
