Sorry to break this to you guys, but the legislation that has been proposed is talking about drafting from 18-42, men and women. They are also proposing that if health or concientious objection does not allow you to serve, there will be a "civilian service corp". Further, "everyone" within the age group will have to go eventually for two years.

I just turned 44 AND I've already served (cold war veteran!).

If I was the age and was eligible, and the mission was to occupy civil war torn Iraq to keep the oil safe for Exxon? No.

If I was the age and it was about fighting and actual army from an actual country who actually did something bad to us, like the Japanese in WWII? Yes.

An attitude of "My country right or wrong" is dangerous when the country is run by a mental midget with a blood lust and an apetite for oil profits.

I'm 22. if there were to be a draft I would probably go so I would have some some sort of Live combat experience. But there would without a doubt be serious civil unrest, riots and all because of Bush. Now im not saying hes a horrible person in any way, but there have been 2 wars since he's been in office and neither have been won in ither Iraq or Afganistan. I just hope to god that Hilary clinton doesnt get into office! Can you imagine her declaring war? "Hey, I heard your husband cheated on you."-Canada "WHAT?! I declare war! **SLAP** "-Clinton
lol

But yes I would enlist.

If they ever start seriously talking publicly about it I will join before they draft people that way I get to pick what I will do. I do not doubt in the slightest that they will draft women this time around. I have already been thinking about joining the Air Force anyway.

yes I'm over 25 , but lets look at one little thing here , IF the draft was reinstated it would be only because congress has declared war on a country , and you can bet your last dollar i would be called out of retirement and if not called i would be the first one in line

Oh yeah! And even though I'm a chick...I know I'd kick butt.

Oh...I didn't see the age limit but that's ok...I'd still kick butt

I do support my family and friends that are there now and I "adopt" soldiers. Support Our Troops

I'm sure this sounds lame. But I really wouldn't want to go, I do not want to be a part of the military. I have asthma anyway. I'd probably say jail, depending on the circumstances.

But if I felt very strongly about whatever it was, I might want to go.

If the draft was to go into effect again, my husband and I would be too old and our health conditions would have prevented us anyway...though my husband would have served if he could have.

My husband is already in but everyone we have talked to said they would go to Mexico or Canada. I think they are ignorant and spineless. I would fight for my country if I had to why can'y they? GRRRRR

Too old to be drafted. But were the draft to be reinstated my grandchildren would be shipped to any place. I don't see it as civic duty when the war being fought is illegal and all the other crap that is tied to it. War is NOT a solution.
