Just like people, some cats are more affectionate than others. Only one (out of 6) of my cats ever wants to be pet. The other ones act like I'm annoying them. Little stinkers ;)

It like and craves attention. Your lucky I have 9 kitties and there outside kitties and I can't pet any of them.

They like to be petted, to show affection, that's the way kittens are, it makes them feel secure and loved, so pat your kitty as much as you have time for.

My Cee Cee kitty is love-starved. She LOVES being petted.
My Big Bad Baby Twinkle could care less- just a few head strokes or scritchies from me and she is happy.

Because kitty loves you. It's their way of bonding. Of course, it would be nice if they would give you a back rub from time to time, but alas no.

kitten enjoy being petted alot. I guess it just in their nature. Just like when kids come up to adults wanting attention

She doesn't need to be pet - she wants to be pet.
