lust for revenge against any country or group of people. We have not been united since WWII, and even then there was peace mongers, and with the Weapons of today, what would happen to the recieving end of our anger with blood in our eyes.

The most powerful weapon we have is the industrial macine. During WWII, the factory output was phenominal by any standards.

Oh yeah definitely.

Look at 9/11. We were united for a whole year almost, lol. If there was a greater threat then we would definitely be able to unit to crush it.

Do I want it? Absolutely not!

Will it happen? Probably so, given the politicians in office who are afraid to do anything substantive - because it'll reduce their chances of being re-elected.

We /had/ such an incident.

The 'unity' only lasted a couple years, and I don't see any radioactive craters in the middle east.

I'd say your trepidation is unfounded.

It did happen with afghanistan, but now the liberals/democrats are backtracking and not staying the course.

unfortunately, it will probably take something on the order of a major attack against america to make those who would appease our enemies wake up and help protect us...
