Bible doesnt use the word Rapture but it does speak about what a rapture would be
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also that are fallen asleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we that are alive, that are left unto the coming of the Lord, shall in no wise precede them that are fallen asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first;
17 then we that are alive, that are left, shall together with them be CAUGHT UP (meaning rapture) in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
THIS WILL SURELY HAPPEN IF YOU BELIEVE OR NOT. Truth remains the truth whether you believe it or not! Truth is like a moutain, you cannot push it away, you can push yourself away.
Its like saying George Washington was the president of U.S whether you believe it or not

Sci-fi B video clips a minimum of generally attempt to have some style of coherent plot, with some action set products and generally a minimum of one plucky female buddy/damsel in misery to maintain pastime. The heaven/hell thingie does not even have that. there is no decent characters. No communique. No love pastime. there is no longer even a scene the place the scientist hero finally convinces the government that the prospect is genuine, and springs up with some wildly incredible pseudo-technological awareness to keep the day ("we are going to spray the extraterrestrial beings with Gatorade! The electrolytes interior the fluid will react with their alien frightened systems, making them overload and explode!!"). there is no 0.33 act in any respect - it slightly qualifies as an thrilling placing, no longer to show an entire action picture. The Killer Shrews is the two greater plausible, and greater thrilling.

Glad to see you are thinking! This is a new doctrine and was foisted on the churches by the teachings of John Darby during the mid 1800's. If you think closely about it, it teaches a secret second coming of Christ, then a public third coming of Christ. The church prior to this ALWAYS expected to suffer right up to the end of the world and then Christ would appear the second time for judgment and reward. This doctrine is not only silly, it is scripturally unsupportable without performing some serious scripture twisting and gymnastics. In fact, it encourages Christians not to prepare for suffering since they won't have to face it.

The Catholics are not all wrapped up in Rapture talk.
If we keep ourselves within the Grace of God though the Sacraments, then we have nothing to worry about. Man that is a gift from God!
We look at the Rapture as the day of our death, and we do not know that day, and if Jesus returns before that, we can be ready.
No man knows the time or day.......
Peace and God Bless!

I could not have said it better myself.
But you might not want to say Sci-fi because Science after all is based in reality, and nothing in christianity is remotely based in the real world.
Just a niggling thing....

Ugh, a sci fi movie with a religious twist, trying to bring both together, but looks like it failed miserably, looks like crap.

Nope, I always thought it'd make a good science fiction novel if I had it were the Christians thought they were being raptured, but it turned out to be inter-dimensional space aliens abducting them so they could use them to power their space crafts.
