How wrong is wrong?. One digit, one letter?. If it's a minor error, it can be amended in court. If it's a major error, you may have just got lucky.

I live in TX too, & once argued when they put the wrong NAME on my ticket. My car was stationary & some lady hit it while I was in a store. They cited her for failure to maintain a single lane & when she left, they gave me a ticket for parking too far away from the curb (and I was only 2” beyond the expectable limit). When I went to the DA we sat down & I talked to him about it. At 1st he just said he could wave the state fees on the ticket which was I THINK about $40. I then asked him if he could just dismiss the entire ticket & he asked me why? I told him that the name on the ticket wasn't even me. Then I told him that there are leniencies against running stop signs & speeding, so what was the lenience in parking too far from a curb? If she had not hit me, chances are I would not have gotten a ticket. He didn't argue my point & dismissed the ticket.

If it were me, I would argue it. Tell them that accordning to the lisc. number they stated on the ticket, that car doesn't belong to you. Don’t go in there with an attitude, but with civil respect. I think if you weren’t like recklessly driving or DUI then you might have a chance. The least they can say is no! But it really is a big deal when they put the WRONG LP#!!!

Does it matter what TX does as long as you obviously have proof of payment so MS re-instated your license? Can't you simply get a statement from the DMV in MS without having to deal with idiots playing the he said/she said game? Otherwise I'm sure the state has some legal aid or self help you can use to investigate plus did you go in person with your requests? Probably not in TX. Try again & speak with someone else. Just because the first person you spoke with gave you that information doesn't mean it's true it just means they were having a bad day or they always do so they don't want to bother but someone else might. Ask to speak with their supervisor as well

this same thing happened to my friend. it depends what other factors are going on. he has yet to do anything about it, and a whole year passed. if you know you did something wrong, if you come forward about it, they may see that and dismiss it. also, if it is something that is difficult to prove, you can just say it isn't so. that officer made the mistake that changes the scenario. i would call anonymous to some defensive driving classes and see what they say. i've had tickets dismissed in court when the cop did something faulty. i would call around anonymous to different places (municipal court, defensive driving class, police station... ) ask lots of questions... talk to someone who seems trustworthy and just say you feel that you are not at fault, and the mistake just makes it worse... or come forward with it and see if it is pardoned since there is an error! i live in tx and i have seen all kinds of stuff pardoned since they have alot to deal with already. i just hope you aren't in williamson county!!! GOOD LUCK

I know where i'm from, it is not valid for any mistake found on your ticket, wether it's the color of your car or an error in your name. you can just contest your ticket, you will have a court date, most likely the officer will not show up so you win the case. good luck

If it is just one wrong thing and all of the other information is correct then it is still valid because the officer acted in good faith. I know that here- you are to proof read the ticket before you sign it......

I know that here in NE if the ticket is not written out correctly the ticket is in-valid....you still have to go talk to the county attorney...and still might have to appear in court but it should get thrown out.

Here if it's just a simple mistake. Such as the officer messes up a number or two, it's still considered valid.

Take it to court and see, worth a shot.

Don't blow it off, take care of it. Let the judge decide to throw it out.
