I was thinking about this the other day, actually.
We are definitely a sleeping giant. We have hell in our arsenals. We could easily conquer the world with the amount of weaponry we have and the sophistication of it.
Albeit, that people don't object to what it would take to conquer it. (IE: IRAQ!!!!!!!!!!!)
If we wanted to, we could unleash destruction and terror on a scale that is only matched by Hell itself. There's no doubt about that.
But the people are getting soft. But, if you're just talking about Military alone, it doesn't matter. With the amount of sophistication our weapons have, you don't need very many troops. Just a few foot soldiers to keep order and clean up the mess. (Few being in the millions, but compare that with past wars)

Sleeping Giant?! America unfortunately for the most part doesn't know its head from its a**! Our country has been denuded by political correctness, dumbed down by an ineffectual education system, drugged up by the pharmaceutical industry, lied to by our established press, over run by illegal migrants and aliens, out-sourced our major industries, most citizens in personnel debt, the worst individual savings since 1933, ran by corporate money and not by congress, a privatized Federal Reserve, the disappearance of the middle-class, a welfare state vs a warfare state and the complete destruction of the family now being given over to the state! Sleeping Giant! I would say this Giant is damn near comatose!!!!!
For those who think I'm a little pessimistic, I'm not. I'm just an American like you and I very much want to get my country back

Getting Soft? We have been soft and unawares since Vietnam, the debacle of the hostage crisis in 1979/80, Beirut Embassy bombing (April 1983), Marines barracks and French multinational force bombings in Beirut (October 1983), Kosovo, the first World Trade Center bombing (February 1993), Mogadishu (October 1993), USS Cole bombing (August 2006), Madrid and London bombings, US Embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya (August 7, 1998), bombings of World Trade Center and Pentagon, (September 2001) and so on.
This, and former administrations have not got the balls to say who is evil and go get those who are responsible. Yes, this current president has done so but now has wavered and has not allowed the military, but the idiotic politicians, to do what they are trained to do. And now the pathetic Democrat majority in both houses wants to pull out and one of their own, Harry Reid, has stated that the war is lost in Iraq!!
We are no longer a sleeping giant for our enemies, in collusion with the democrat party, have handed this country all the incentive it needs to step up attacks abroad and then will eventually come here. If we pull out of fighting them over there then certainly we will fight them here.

Let the Giant sleep, for when it awakes, all will be sorry.
All it would take, is a incident like a "dirty bomb" or such being set off and destroying a whole city. The world has not seen the US Mad since WWII. With the weapons we have now, and a cause that riles the whole nation, would YOU won't to be on the receiving end.
Remember, thou, there is always Killers of Giants too.

More and more yes, but there is still those who would rise up against oppression, no matter what it took, including me. I think that the media is mainly responsible for the current state of our country aswell.

The last generation that could be described as "sleeping giant" is in their 60's now.

we're too soft, we always tell the enemy our plans, tie both hands behind our back and stick our boy's chins way out there so the enemy can just punch away. It's ridicules to send our young boys/girls into it. it's insanity!
Heavan forbid we ever hurt the feelings of the enemy, they might protest us. Hell yes, we're too soft.
