Everyone has their self righteous answer for a situation they have NEVER been in and know nothing about, having no access to doctors, hospitals, much less birth control, no public transportation, don't own a vehicle, never owned a pair of shoes, never enough food, children going to school hungry, who are you going to protest to when you have no means to get to a city to protest? I would do WHATEVER is necessary to feed my child..

Here I see that there are plenty of jobs for healthy young men like me. Me and my friends had no trouble getting jobs. However, it's not like that for all of our citizens either. I know a couple single moms who are smart and hard workers and have a horrible time keeping a job. They never get paid a legal wage. I know a couple older people with health problems that can't get jobs or health care. They were all turned down at least once for a Mexican. But I've met Mexicans and Asians through my work that had no trouble getting jobs or health care here, even though a couple of them didn't even have the right ID and paperwork. So a healthy young man could travel and get work anywhere. I could. But what about the rest of my family and friends and their families? We wouldn't leave them behind and don't like them being displaced in a work force that they already have trouble competing in. They are already in that type of situation where they can't get a job and have to depend on others and can't get help from the government. So do they need to travel to Canda or some Nordic country to health care and a job or welfare? So while we care about what others are going through, we need to start taking care of our own FIRST.

I definatley wouldnt reproduce and make matters worse and then expect someone else to pay for it.I would probaly do what Im doing right now, keep working even though I dont get paid enough due to illegals undermining the American workers.
There are nearly five billion people in the world who live in countries poorer than Mexico. It can safely be assumed that many of those billions—like many Mexicans—would love to come to the United States in search of higher consumption levels.
Some Americans think that would be a great thing. But everybody else thinks it would be a terrible disaster. A 1998 Roper Poll found that only six percent of Americans think we don't have enough people in the country.
Since this is a democracy, subjective questions like this one are best decided by the majority, and since the people have not yet voted the borders out of existence, we have to operate from the position that our country still has them.
One of the characteristics of borders is that it divides the human race into those within the borders and those outside—just like the door to your apartment divides the human race into those within your apartment, and those on the outside. Borders, like doors and locks, are exclusionary by nature.
In the modern age, of course, this seems like a great sin, since a primary modern virtue is "inclusion." We moderns have a difficult time saying "us" and "them."
It goes against our modern sensibilities to say to someone born in Switzerland or Bangladesh, "I'm sorry. You are excluded." To us, it seems "mean."
But it is not mean. It is realistic and necessary and prudent.
Keep in mind one thing: our country is already taking in far more immigrants every year than any other country in the world. This extremely high rate of immigration is causing our nation to undergo massive changes changes the majority of the people of this country don't even want.
Yet for all the people we are taking in, we are still taking in only a little more than one percent of the births-over-deaths population growth of the world. If we are going to be "compassionate" to all the foreigners of the world and dismiss the best interests of our own people, what about that other 99 percent?
Again, it is not mean to control our borders. It is necessary and realistic.
What is mean is leaving our children a country twice as populated as we found it for no good reason other than that we were too lazy, or too cringing, or too benighted, to defend our borders.

Stand up as a people as many have done in centuries past. Oh I know, america freed eastern europe as well as latin america from communism and such. The europeans stood up and made a change happen. Then they got support and millions of dollars from the US.
The real thing is integration and if it was so this would be a nonissue. 5 or so channels in Spanish or ATMs, cell phones and every product in a grocery store having spanish on it? Not seeing Korean or Arabic everywhere....... on everything. Thats what it is all about.
Ther are a lot of great people from latin countries that come here. There are are many families that contribute and are so welcome. But if people who are not legal are not legal.

Americans would work on building things others wanted to buy, we would work on straightening up our own country, which we are trying hard to do and illegals are just adding more work for us to do in keeping our country so there are jobs for our own kids and a future. So far illegals have made it so the money we have paid into SS all our lives will not be there when we need it because our government has given it all away to illegals. So as you can see we now have to work that much harder.

I would stand up fpr what I believe is wrong and start a revolution!
Too many people from these countries are cowardice and greedy. They come here, get on their feet, and forget about the rest of their countrymen. Sure, they try to bring somefamily members in, but that is selfisfh. What about their countrymen? They leave them to fiend for themselves, saying that "it's their problem, I got mine."
How do I know this, I have heard so from a few immigrants. I always ask why they don't go bakc and fix their country and that's the reply thatI get.
You get all of these people coming here from all these different countries; how come they won't band togther and try to make changes bakc home?
Selfish, greedy bastards is all they are!!

I believe I understand your question,I know of a family I help in another country because there isn`t enough work for them all to survive so when I can I send Direct (not via agencies who use most donations up on paperwork) to a trustee who ensues my wishes are carried out & when I see what the small difference my bit does when I do go out I feel that little bit better but would very much like to help more alas the lottery or pools numbers are not favourable at present!

Well, that's a compelling question but the reality of it is that it's really not our problem. We have people here that citizens and are starving. I'm not talking about just being really hungry, but starving. These are people who might work in the fields given the opportunity but guess what? Someone else has those jobs. The U.S. cannot be the welfare solution for the entire world. At some point we have to start taking care of our own.

I wish half of you would live in a country were your government turned their backs on you. Were you would be thrown in jail and tortured for speaking your mind or protesting. Where people are kidnapped and never found and the government does nothing because they ordered the kidnapping. Where if the government wants your land they don't buy it but take it from you and/or kill you and your family for it.
You people who are anti illegals just don't understand. All you do is whine whin whin. I wounder how many of you are currently now sitting on your butts and just collecting disability, unemployment or your SS check. Monies that are offered by our government. Benefits that are only made available to people that have legal status (US residency or US citizenship).
You all disgust me. this is not the French Revolution, thing were so different then. Jess you could be owner of land you built your house on that was that it was yours and you had no bills to pay and my list can go on and on.

Or try to be a "legal immigrant" that could assimilate in a country like USA instead of an non-assimilating "illegal migrant" sucking away jobs, the fabric of that society, and the future of that country's children which would include your own if you decided to be this type of economic vampire...

I would move, fight for rights in my country (not someone Else's) or work harder to make ends meet. No one is forcing them to stay in their country of origin, but it is appropriate to do it legally. America accepts 2 million LEGAL immigrants every year. That's more than every other country in the world combined (there are about 194 countries in the world) You really can't ask for more.
If I really had no other choice but to immigrate unlawfully, I certainly wouldn't be gallabanding around with the flag of a country I didn't even see fit to live in. I wouldn't demand people learn my language. I wouldn't protest for rights I don't deserve unless I am a citizen. I wouldn't commit crimes which could potentially get me deported. I wouldn't abuse social services. I certainly wouldn't whine when it was pointed out that I was in the wrong.
*edit* America does help countries in need! Where have you been? They provide millions to Mexico in the form of foreign aid every year. For years America has been turning a blind eye to illegal immigrants. We let them cross the border unlawfully, we give them free education, medical, all types of social services... social services that Americans can't even get in their time of need anymore because the overwhelming amount of illegal immigrants using them up!!! heck, they're not even citizens and we give them all the same rights! All we ask is for a little appreciation. We don't want them burning our flag. We don't want them abusing social services. We don't want them coming in hordes to the point where we can't afford them anymore. America helps everyone they can. We cannot save the world. This argument on illegal immigration cannot be solely based on emotion. We need to be realistic about what can and cannot be accomplished. I feel bad for their plight, but can you really risk the lives of all of America just to have free and open borders?! Lets use our head here. Letting all of the poor population of every other country come here just isn't realistic or financially possible.
