Potentially due to poor nutritional habits? Are you eating regular balanced (whole grains, fruits/vegetables, lean proteins) meals? A lot of Americans are in the habit of drinking coffee and eating sweetened breads over food for the majority of the day and then complain of feelings of tiredness in the afternoon.
Other contributing factors include:
- Lack of sleep - due to time in bed or a potential disorder (suck as sleep apnea).
- Irregular sleep schedule (experts recommed heading to bed at the same time daily)
- Alcohol consumption (yes, it helps most of us fall asleep, but research shows it interupts the normal cycle)
- Lack of regular exercise (wear you body out!)

There's nothing worse (IMHO) than feeling tired all the time, best wishes for sweet dreams!

You could be getting too much sleep. Also, if you drink too much caffeine, it will give you a reverse effect. Sleep 6-8 hours a day and try and limit yourself to two cups of coffee.

You can have mono and not even know it...you could also be anemic (low iron), take a multivitamin and see how you feel in a couple days.

You may not be getting enough sleep or not eating properly. The best thing to do is make an appointment with your doctor and get their opinion, be sure to let them know how much sleep you're getting and what your usual meals consist of. You may be anemic, that's one of the symptoms.

Make sure to take plenty of daily vitamins as well.

It might be anemia. Take lots of iron, it will help you not feel so sleepy.

not getting enough sleep, getting over illness, stress? see you doc and ask what he thinks could be causing it. if you have a spoyse, ask if they have noticed anything unusual while you sleep (loud snore, stop breathing sporadically, flailing limbs, etc.) the doc may suggest a sleep study or to see a sleep doctor
if he thinks the problem is sleep-related (not stress/illness). good luck!

It could be anemia which basically just means you need more iron. Ask your doctor to test for it.
