No. I don't think the apocalypse is on us now, and the papacy doesn't have anywhere near that kind of power. John Paul II couldn't even get concessions about mentioning Europe's Christian past into its constitution. World leaders will openly defy the pope (whoever he is at the time), and his own church will oppose him.
The pope has no power, and he's neither the Antichrist nor the False Prophet. There's way too much anti-catholic gibberish going around.

I don't believe that every story in the bible is the Word of God. Much is the word of men, and I do mean men, the women's viewpoint was edited out early. I also call in question the many translations of the bible from it's various original languages (Revelations was in Greek) to English. Each translation carries with it the translator's agenda, as he changes the text as he translates it.
And finally, to answer you question, any False Prophet is more likely to come out of entertainment or politics these days. The Church of Rome may have some influence, but only so far as the entire poplace sees the holiness or ordinaryness of the individuals. John the 23rd was a holy man, as was John Paul II. The new pope doesn't strike me as extraordinary, just a good administrator.
Please don't start on the old chestnut that the Church of Rome is evil ', all Christianity has its roots in the Church of Rome.

this is debatable but i'm leaning toward the FP being the pope. Because who else in the world has the most religious influence other than the pope. It also talks about rome. "the city which sits on 7 hills" is widely known as rome. This guy who was a catholic priest I think predicted all the popes until the end and it just so happens that the next pope is the last on the list. look up saint malachy

the present pope is the seventh? he's the 265th Pope. The Vatican sits on ONE hill, Vatican Hill, not seven The words VICARIOUS FILII DEI have by no ability been inscribed on the Pope's mitre. You fail. did you be responsive to that barney is the antichrist? that's authentic. Barney is nicely-defined with right here word: cute pink DINOSAUR The previous Latin alphabet used the letter 'V' fairly than 'U', consequently the above word is changed to: CVTE PVRPLE DINOSAVR Letters that don't characterize Roman numerals are bumped off: CV-- -V--L- DI----V- upload up the Roman numerals of the relax letters: C + V + V + L + D + I + V one hundred + 5 + 5 + 50 + 500 + a million + 5 = 666, that's the type of the Beast consequently, Barney is the antichrist

Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone
this is the only verse mentioning both in the same verse
I believe the Beast which is also called the son of perdition in 2nd Thessilonians is a national leader like a president or prime minister
the false prophet is a Islamic Religous leader

i can't say. But that's sounds like a good guess. actually, when was the last time you heard about the pope saying anything prophetic? if anything, i think the False prophet would be someone who prophecies typically come through. like one of these mega preaher/missionaries. someone who can reach Christians because that is who the fp is after. In revelations it talks about christians taking the mark of the beast.

According to the prophecy of St. Malachy ( a Catholic) the next Pope will be the last and will be the false prophet. He said his papal name would be Peter of Rome. Look it up for yourself on your favorite search engine.

Wow, lady, I wondered that.
My husband is Catholic and I told him that I felt the anti Christ might be the next pope.
I don't really have a reason for this, just that maybe he has lots of power and influence.
My husband, interestingly enough, is of the mind that he will come from either the UN or maybe the next president.
God bless...
