Hey guys,I have to get a full set of braces TOMORROW!I'm so scared,plus...this is my first time EVER!Hepl,please...how do I calm down?

I got my full set of braces in June. It really wasn't that bad. A few hours later it started to hurt when I ate. It hurt to eat for about a week. I would just suggest that you take Advil or Tylenol before you go. Have your mom or dad go out and buy lots of ice cream, pudding, and pasta. Really you should know that it isn't going to be that bad and it only hurts for a little while. After a few days you almost forget that they are there anyway.

,had braces for TWO years in the beginning my lips bled and everything in my mouth was sore, it felt almost like my teeth were about to fall out, but it was worth it, every single second with pain and the ugly braces too. Before i couldn't close my mouth because of my teeth, i don't think you should worry at all, but buy painkillers NOW, you'll never know. Take a deep breath and let the dentist do his job. You will have gorgeous looking teeth in a while-good luck! :)

its not bad when they r putting them on it doesnt hurt or anything but a few hours later it will start to hurt. i think u should take some tylenol or advil b4 u go to the orthodontist so they wont hurt as bad. be sure u ahve wax for the first week or so bc ur gums have to become tougher to handle the brackets scratching and cutting them. at first they wont move bc they just put a tiny wire in ur mouth so u get used to the feel of braces. dont worry about it its no biggie. u will b fine! just think about how straight and pretty ur teeth r gonna get! =]

Just think of all the compliments you'll get for that great smile you will have. Braces are no big deal anymore. They have all sorts of colors to choose from. There was a kid at my daughters school who had rainbow braces! Just have fun with them. You wear the braces, they do not wear you.

while braces are not fun, just think of the beautiful teeth that you will have afterwards...absolutely perfect and straight. I am terrified of the dentist and I always make sure that he knows so he is extra gentle and friendly and most of the time provides laughing gas. Of course they are going to hurt, but I think that it is worth a little discomfort for a flawless smile! Good luck.

Calm down, it's just braces. Make sure you don't suck on candy or drink too many sugary drinks. Also you might want to buy a waterpick so you can clean behind them.

Just think about how nice you'll look with pretty straight teeth! But don't worry. I got them too and I was scared but it really isn't bad. It doesn't actually hurt that much.
