It is very hard to know what English food is anymore. The edges are so blurred given that one of the most popular food in this country is now curry! I tend to think of English food as a piece of meat on a plate surrounded by bland vegetables which have been boiled to within an inch of their lives. The whole thing then being topped off with a brown liquid made from a cube containing half a ton of salt, yeast extract and a heap of flavour enhancers and other chemical nasties. The Americans seem to have gone the other way with highly flavoured food but again being full of fat, salt and other health busting gremlins.

There are those in every country, even those with a reputation for awful food, that cook very well and thank goodness for them. However, there are still the neanderthals who will only eat their meat and two boring veg and the remainder of the great unwashed who will keep stuffing the junk food down. How that can be changed I have no idea. So although I think it is a close race with the Americans, on balance I don't think there is a worse cuisine than the English (British)

American food bad? Riiiiiight. That's why we have the food network, several world famous chefs and the top cullinary schools. Tell me the name of that famous cullinary school in the England again? ;o)

And as far as America being a "Fast Food Nation," I wouldnt exactly say that your pub food is meeting any sort of nutritional guidelines. It's usually fried or wrapped in a pastry! It's just that you dont have leftwing crazies out to destroy and expose the Pub industry by making documentary films about them!

well...haha i think english food is actually pretty good, considering their unique tastes. But they're served in such a small portion. If you want to know a bad cuisine, it would be Indian food....ugh. i have an Indian restaurant down the street and the food is blegh. its tart, sour, and if you look at it you would definitely lose your appetite
