Its Revelation, no 's'.

I think John was referring to Babylon, and the sin infestation.

I do not know who exactly the reference is to, however there are many times in Ezekiel where Israel is describe as a prostitute in who they treat God. Perhaps it could be some reference that Israel (the people or the country) will eventually give itself over to evil (the anti-christ, Satan, or whoever).
