Like most people, I thought a lot about this as a child. I use to think God lived with a bunch of people just like him and we were like a toy to him. He kept us in a shoebox and pulled us out to play every now and then... lol

Part of the definition of "god" is that he is the ultimate source for everything. So no one could create "god".
Science and religion both agree that there has to be "something" that something that has always existed. For a long time, science held that it was matter. That has since been pretty much proven to be false, so now the turn to energy instead. Their theory is that energy never comes or goes. That it is eternal. And that a large "explosion" of energy caused the material universe.
Religion (or at least the Christian faith) holds that it is God who is eternal. He has always existed and is the source of the material universe.
Whichever you pick, you have to have SOMETHING that has existed forever. God just makes more sense.

People have got to understand that God is everything, yet nothing, that God was neither created or can be destroyed!! God is the earth and everything on it , including us, God is the universe and beyound, God is infinite, God is me God is you, God is so far beyond our comprehension it is pointless for us mere humans to try and lable him!!! That statement i just made is bringing God down to our level and is wrong! God is the past , the present, and the future, God is the unspeakabe, God is all possible feelings and beings and selves, floating in infinity, peaceful, unaltered, forever and always constant!!!

I believe in God personally, but I also believe that there is no such thing as anything. Let me elaborate, I think that there is nothing, that everything is just a mirage or a figment of imagination. You are right with your assumptions, but God could not have just been there and it would be endless if God had a God who had a God and so on and so forth. There is no such thing as life, so there is no such thing as pain or fear, go out and live your dreams to the fullest, don't be afraid to try something new, and make your life better by making other people's lives better. If someone's miserable that's not fair if you don't care. Even though you can't make everything in the universe better, make everything around you better.
Wow who knows I could become a philosipher one day! But first I would need to learn to spell philosipher right! ;)
P.S. I know I got off topic but I thought my voice should be heard.

like other people have said, God does not "exist" in the time you and I speak of. He always existed, He is the first cause. It's really mind boggling because we can't understand that right now. This is one of the reasons I believe God has to exist because we can't even comprehend the fact that God exists outside of time let alone make up the idea that God exists unless it is implanted on the human heart.

This is the same question as what came first chicken or the egg. To define this, would be to define infinity. God is Infinit so nothing is greater. Humans do not fully understand the concept of all knowing, all power, infiinite, or the beginning, so we state that God was at the beginning instead of trying to classify infinite.

The answer is as Father God said to Moses, I AM that I AM. I quess it means, He decided to be so He was. I will ask that when I see Him and you will have to do the same.
