I can tell you what not to use... my doctor told me that benderal is a faux reliever... it just gives you relief by doesn't stop the blockage or break up the stuff. He told me never to take it for allergies only for bee stings and such.
Allegra works good but if you need something fast and without a doctor- Clarition D.

I don't have any allergies myself, but some friends got it really bad! First of all I guess every person needs to find their own best allergy medicine! But this is what all the people know and like: Benadryl, you can get it without a prescription and this is what I have heard best! For example if you are allergiec to trees and you want to go outside, take an hour to a half hour the benadryl, it is like a prevention! It does help! Good Luck!

it sounds weird but I take a spoon full of honey with a cup of cold water. I was in vietnam when I started having really bad allergies and there wasn't any medications so one of my relatives gave my honey. It worked really well so every time I had allergies I would take a spoon full for the month I was there. I still do that here in the U.S. when I have my allergies. I drop by a starbucks for a package and I'm good.

"Allergy Medications
There is no cure for allergies, but there are several types of medicines available -- both over-the-counter and prescription -- to help ease annoying symptoms like congestion and runny nose. These include antihistamines, decongestants, combination medicines, corticosteroids and others. " more on the website with details on many kinds of medications and their uses.

Good luck to you. I live with allergies as well and for minor flare ups I use Claritin and it seems to do the job for me. For major reactions I head right down to the ER.

Typically 24 hour claritin. Though benadryl is the drug pf choice in the E.R. Leukotriene inhibitors are very preventative and useful.

I've always had good luck with Allegra. You need a prescription for it though. For OTC, I would say Claritin, or the generic version of it.

depends on your allergy..... :)
Anti-histamines usually help suppress symptoms. They come in various forms (pills, creams etc.) also often coupled with other active ingredients e.g. steroids.
