I like to eat well, but like most of us I'm on a budget. I'd like to buy decent (doesn't have to be fabulous) olive oil in bulk to save money over time, but I'm unsure where to look. I found some possibilities with a Yahoo search, but I'm afraid if I buy from someone without any references I'll end up with a half-rancid drum of unrefined junk. Can someone recommend a good provider from personal experience that won't cost an arm and a leg?

Thank you!

You shouldn't buy more than you can use unless you have somewhere you can freeze the extra oil. Olive Oil will go bad over time. Buy a one gallon tin from any decent grocery store and you can't go wrong. My mom always bought Pastene, though I don't know where you are, so not sure if it's available there.

You could try a specialty Italian grocery as well. Buying in gallon quantities will save you a lot over bottles.

A grocery store? It's food, you know. Btw, there's no scientific evidence or plausible mechanism by which olive oil applied to the skin would reduce wrinkles. You're 13 anyway.

I buy 4 liters at a time from Costco, for under $20.00 for Extra Virgin, or about $10 to $12/gallon for non-extra virgin.

If you don't have a membership, find a "friend-of-a-friend, etc." who does and ask them to pick it up for you.

in bulk? ya know, it's true, you get what you pay for. opt for the extra virgin olive oil if you're even going to bother with olive oil.
there are many brands to choose from, including affordable brands, check your 'off beat' local stores for cost savings

i wouldn't worry too much about brands. just make sure it's extra virgin olive oil, and check the label for the production site. oil from italy or portugal or that general area is better.
