Personality disorders are a type of metal health disorder... which can also be called an illness.
It's really an issue of how you define something. Some would say that a metal "illness" is something with a definite onset, symptoms, and treatment... like depression.
Those people might say something chronic would be a "disorder" not an "illness" Some prefer "disorder" to "illness" because the phrase "mental illness" has a stigma associated with it (and "disorder" doesn't sound as bad or dangerous).
But at the end of the day it's simply different words for the same thing.

Personally I think a personality disorder is just that...a personality issue and has nothing to do with mental illness issues.
If you are really concerned, then I would talk to your primary care physician and see if they feel you need to see a therapist or not. I guess some personality disorders could result in a mental health issue at some point.

Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders not illness that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and actions. Because of the inflexibility and pervasiveness of these patterns, they can cause serious problems and impairment of functioning for the persons who are afflicted with these disorders.

Mental health illness (mental health issues are real conditions and are treated as illnesses - treated with therapy and usually medication). I'm not sure what the difference is in your mind.

Personality and Disorder do not belong in the same sentence. Your personality is your personality, period! Theytypes of personalities are well documented. Just another excuse for a Dr. to put someone on drugs.

Mental health illness, NOT "issue."
Bi-polar, schizophrenia, personality disorder, severe depression -- these are all mental health illnesses.
