Sin is a deliberate thought, word, deed, or omission contrary to the eternal law of God.

In other words, sin is anything that hurts your relationship with God.

Fleeting impure thoughts are not deliberate and therefore are a temptation and not a sin.

If you choose to give in and dwell on the impure thoughts then you commit sin.

With love in Christ.

It's normal but it's not okay. Impure thoughts are sins. You should resist the temptation to give in and pray for strength. God will help you and over time you'll find that whatever was so tempting is no longer that interesting anymore.

If you give in to the temptation to engage in impure thinking...then you will go the other way. You will need it more and more and it will come between you and God.

All sin gets in the way of our relationship with God. If your desire is for him, then you should hate sin and seek him in all things.

Remember in the story Sodom and Gomorrah? Well the bible specifically says that they also had impure thoughts. The days before the Flood too the people had immoral thoughts. In the end of these examples the people were destroyed. I also believe in Paul's writing's he touches on the topic of it. Remember these are not only stories but real occurrences. Yes I too agree that not all Christians follow the bible as they say that you should. But there is some out there that are true to the Lord and are willing to do any thing for Him.

Yes, impure thoughts are sinful. Sin is an evil action that is done through thought, word or deed. But the good news is that Jesus would forgive you if you confessed your sins to Him and earnestly ask Him into your heart. You see, God loves everyone. But a person cannot abide in heaven with God if that person has died in his sins. That is why He sent His Son, Jesus. John 3:16-18 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." Romans 10:13 says, "for Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." I sincerely hope that this assists you or anyone else who needs to be justified through Christ Jesus. Think of the word "justified" as once you receive Jesus, you were forgiven of all sin JUST-AS-IF-I'D never sinned.

If impure thoughts were a sin, no one would get into heaven. It's what you do based on your thoughts that create sins.

James 1:14 ...But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. (verse 15) Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin....

So if the desire is in your heart or mind and is not removed, your next thing will be the act (consciencely or unconsciencely)and there goes your sin thats why...jeremiah 17:9 says "The heart is more treacherous than anything else and is desperate....thats why your thoughts should be pure!!!

Temptation is not sin. An impure thought can be a temptation. if you dismiss it at that-no sin. If you entertain the thought-then it is lust. That is a sin.

I'm pretty sure Lust is sexual desires. It would make sense if it was any sort of desire, but I think it's just sexual. Anyways it wouldn't make sense if you went to hell for having sex, otherwise we would have died off a long time ago. I'm pretty sure the rule is you can only lust after one man or woman, the one person you marry, and the one person you have sex with.

I think it's a sin if you allow yourself to keep thinking it. I think you have to try and push the thoughts out of your mind. I'm not 100% sure though. anyone else?

... its the point where the temptation turns to acting thats the focal point .. and dwelling on an impure thought is lust .. not the thought or temptation itself ..
