The sermon on the mount - Jesus said that those on the right of the father will be welcome into heaven because "when i was hungry...you fed me...i needed clothes...you clothed me"...i mean if some christians believe that all we have to do is believe in jesus than they are more or less picking and choosing what they like from the bible - and NO-ONE can do that with the word of god. Personally i do NOT believe that god will use the same criteria to judge us all...he knows that some people have been born into christianity which makes it easier to believe and that some have never heard of him...or believe in different things.

pardon me, but what exactly is your question?

You're addressing christians in your question, so i shall answer you in the same viewpoint.

A christian believes in the Word of God, and God said He sent Jesus for us, in John 3:16.

It's for you to believe or not to, that's about as simple as that.

You are way off. You really think God is going to give you an easier judgment cause you were not born into a Christian family? What!?!? That is crazy. And what else, in your opinion, do we have to do to get into Heaven? By believing in Jesus we should automatically be doing good with our lives. He should be changing us from the inside out. God bless you.

You have a VERY good point. You have found truth. The Bible strictly teaches that if you have faith, you will have works, too. The two are interdependent.

God will judge you based upon your knowledge. He is a just God.

1 Corinthians 15:34 says: "Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God—I say this to your shame."

We can't be willingly ignorant either. That is a sin in itself.

Simply believing there's a God and in Jesus will not get you to heaven. Even Satan and his demons know there is a God and they tremble at his name and will spend an eternity in hell.

One must believe Jesus is the son of God and that he came to this world to die for all mans sins. Then you must confess your sins to him and ask him to save your soul with a sincere and humble heart. From this point its good to get into a good Bible based church that preaches the whole word of God with no compromising and learn more about who he is, his love for all mankind, and how were are to live.

This is one of the most misunderstood statements of the bible! Christ said who ever believes in me shall have ever lasting life and shall not perish!! Christians have taken this statement and construded it to mean all you have to do is believe that Christ existed and died for our sins, and you are good go!! Getting into heaven is garanteed!!! Not true! Christ when he said this ment that not only do you have to believe in me, you have to live as I did. In other words action speak louder than words!!!! Jesus was a human man just like the rest of us, he came on this earth to show us if he can live by the word of God, and turn away from temptation of the devil, than so can all mankind do the same! In other words if Jesus could do it and become one with God , so can we all! unfortunately most Christians so not live their life, as Jesus lived his!!!!! I agree with you, God will judge us all individualy!!

I totally agree. Most people pick and choose what the believe in the Bible and that can't be done. A lot of Protestants bash Catholic people because the Bible says not to have statues but in other parts of the Bible God commands people to make statues. Protestants also bash Catholics for being "un-biblical" and for not being sola scriptura but the Bible itself says that not all of Jesus's teachings are in the Bible. So if you were to truly to believe in sola scriptura you would have to believe in divine tradition, too.

Modern Christianity is a very tough religion to follow, especially to those who have a very high sense of common sense going on. (Like me)

The way I see it: in order to get to heaven in Christianity you have to do the following:

1. believe in God

2. believe that the Almighty has a son (by the way, the Almighty is not a human)

3. believe that the Almighty gave this son as a blood sacrifice, for HIMSELF. Because eventually sacrifices made sense because humans did it for Gods sake. But now the tables have turned around and God has sacrificed His own Son so humans can please Him better. (makes sense?)

4. after all this, you need to do good deeds so you can stay away from the devil

5. fight non believers or worse, preach to them until they give in.

This is a very basic list Ive compiled. And as you can see, its not an easy thing to do to deserve heaven in Christianity.

The second and third articles are completely mind boggling and do not make sense. And to make matters worse, Christians actually say: it doesnt have to!!

Congratulations you get it. The primary religions are based on the ideas pased down through generations. Very few people seek out God, but those who do, find their own interpretation of the lord, and learn to love God uniquely and to me that is what makes a good christian. If we follow God, we should do so in his light, not the shadows of others.

It says in James that "Faith without works is dead". Any Christian who says that Christ gave them grace and they don't need to work anymore, is taking advantage of the atonement of Christ. If he suffered all pain and suffering that we have felt from a broken arm, to a divorce, to a sin that we are repenting of, doesn't it make sense that we should live in a way to know that we are suffering as little as we can (especially from the sin) to make sure that we took up less of his pain? Perhaps that's an odd way of putting it, but our lives need to be worked for.

Here's a story that might help my point. A father was approached by his young son who wanted a bike. The father said, "you need to earn the money" so the little boy worked in the yard and in the house and even went to his neighbors to work for them and earn the money. When he came back to his father, he beamed as he poored out his piggy bank. The little boy was so proud of all he had accomplished toward his bike. But when the father counted the boys money, the boy only had ten dollars and some change. Seeing how hard his son had worked for the bike, the father took him to the bike store and paid the difference.
Christ paid our difference, but we need to work as hard as we can to earn our own salvation in Heaven. We are not saved by grace alone.

I would also like to suggest another thing. A lot of comments have been made on the fact the God will judge us each according to our situations. I agree with this, but would also like to point out something for those who don't agree. First, God is Merciful, Just, and unchanging In other words, he has been and always will be merciful and just. Second, he loves us each individually and wants ot live with us as much as we do with him. A woman with 22 children loves them each and knows them each just as God knows all of His children. Each and every one of us are unique and special to him. Doesn't it make sense that people who live in the jungles of South America, as so relevantly stated, would have the same love, mercy and justice as you and I. He doesn't judge us the same, he loves us the same.

Good point. I guess that all of the native tribes who live in the jungles of South America are screwed. They have never even heard of Jesus, but will have to burn in hell when they die because they didn’t accept him as their savior while they were here on earth. It is odd to think that a person could live their life thinking that they are living the right way, only to find out when they die that they are going to hell because of something they have never heard of.
