Well, I was cleaning out my pocket the other day n unloaded a couple of coins including pennies. would God be offended or will it only be the church clerk calling someone a cheap b@stard?

Putting a small amount in the plate is far better than putting nothing in the plate. Even small change can be helpful. Why do you think that McDonald's and other businesses put those little charity boxes out to collect spare change for charity? Because every little bit helps.

Not rude at all. The widow gave a mite. It is better to put in the plate where it will do some good than for the pennies to get dirty crammed into the seats of your car or your couch cushions.
