Sex is a gift for marriage "In marriage the bed is undefiled but outside of marriage it will be judged." Yes it is a divine gift and In God's Spirit it is elevating.
Outside of marriage as the bible says it is Spiritually De-elevating. High on Jesus repented even of one lie-and letting Jesus into ones heart to have fellowship with Him and Him with you." Revelation 3:19&20 is the key and the most Spiritually elivating and leeds to that gift in marriage. Yet there are fake elevations like drugs-there is pleasure in sin for a season then cometh the judgement.

Well, assuming good sex brings you to a level of ekstasis (ecstasy). Ekstasis basically means an out of body feeling, often applied spiritually. John Donne's poem "The Ecstasy" describes the point better than I ever could.
