Recently, I have been having what seems like a movement disorder. I move my fingers and toes in patterns constantly, I grind my teeth in my sleep, I have a persistent cough, i have a "travelling" itch, my mood is almost never stable, and I have been having a lot of migraine headaches. The coughing has been so bad that it causes me to vomit sometimes. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? All my doctors say that it is not caused by medication. They are not sure what it is.

Even though my life has been stressful lately, everything except the migraines and the grinding teeth just happened out of the blue

Dear Emily,

I just finished answering your post "why does it always happen this way?". In it I learned you are schizophrenic. So am I and I have taken neuroleptic medications for years some of which caused tardive diskenesia, a serious nerve damage disorder. I would suspect the anti-psychotics you may be taking even though the doctor may have said they are not the cause of your troubles.

My chief reason for suspecting the anti-psychotics is the migraine headaches and the grinding of your teeth while sleeping. This sounds like the beginning of tardive diskenesia. Neuroleptyics are powerful chemicals (mind seizing drugs) that may have different side effects for different people. Bring this up with your doctor again and he may give you a new anti-psychotic medication.

Good luck, good health, peace and love!

It sounds like it could be an allergic reaction, which certainly involves the nerves. Think carefully about your diet. Have you been eating or drinking anything different lately? Do you consume sugar-free soft drinks? If so the additive in them; aspartame, is poisonous to many people and can cause symptoms like yours, even if you have been drinking them for awhile.
There are many chemicals added to our food supply, such as MSG, which can cause serious health problems.
Try limiting yourself to fresh, washed fruits and vegetables, cut out red meat for awhile and cut way down on dairy products. Eat whole grain cereal and drink lots of purified water and non-toxic tea, such as green tea.
Cut down on sweets, and stop fast food and carbonated soft drinks!
See if you feel better in a week or two, then slowly add the foods you like until you discover what is making you sick.
Sometimes, like me, you have to totally give up something you love because it affects your health. For me it was coffee.
Good luck!

Sometimes when someone is not dealing with any emotional issues, it comes out in other ways i.e. - what your describing.

Maybe you should have a look at what you are dealing with emotionally. Try to go see a counsellor and maybe talk about your emotions, it just might be whats causing your issues.

I hope you find what your looking for. I would hate dealing with that.

Sounds like depression. Maybe some alergies thrown in. Keep going to the doctor....or try a new one.
