ummmm animism was a precursor to the bible. Atheists gain traits from the societal string stretching back to the bible and before it. Atheists no more resemble animists than bible thumpers do. In fact we do less so than christians, since you still believe this stuff.

Before "modern" organized religions, I'm sure there were still people who believed in the supernatural and those who didn't. But I'd bet a lot of "atheists" are allowing their feelings about organized religion affect their belief in the afterlife, so maybe you have a point.

Probably not. Just think of it this way. Without the Bible, how much further would we be advanced scientifically (since this is what an Atheist believes in... Scientific proof)? Men like Coppernicus would of never been forced to renounce discoveries because the church forced their hand.

I assume you are referring to the 'civilizing' aspect of religion on the general populous having an impact on atheists, as well. I'd say that the moralistic code of the New Testament, Torah, Qur'an, Buddhist Sutras, Hindu writings, etc. all had an impact on overall society, both atheistic and theistic.
However, in recent times, it seems the roles have reversed and most radicals use religion to justify their violence/uncivilized behavior (9/11, abortion bombings, nazis, zionism, etc.).

I can't judge that,
but I just Think that Humans are a higher life form then animals,
that's what separates us.
we can kill a animal and eat it but to do that to a human is cannibalism.
I just don't believe we evolved from animals , we are the only life form on earth that is set apart from from others.
we have dominion over all other life forms, plant life, sea life, animals, even the minerals.

Wow, I did not know the bible, a book of mostly mythology, with some history embellished therein, had any effect on the natural genetic evolution of mankind. And here I thought everyone that worships the teachings of the bible thought evolution was counter to its teachings.

I'm not sure how you go from "atheist" to "animist". I'm sure that there are a lot of people who believe that things like trees and rocks, etc. have souls, but I don't.

Most of the world is NOT Christian. You are extremely arrogant to suggest morality comes from the bible.

Do people even know what "animistic" means?
If you don't believe in a soul, you're not animistic.
I'm not animistic.
