lltrix- I used Albert Einstein as an example of a immigrant. According to some people on yahoo answers they lump all immigrants into being illegal. However there is a large number of legal immigrants who come to this country via a work visa or a student visa like myself.

Cheap cheap labor, something that is close to slavery. Which in turn, is driving down wages of American citizens. the guest worker program will make it even worse. Some workers are here on the guest worker program and American workers were fired from their jobs to hire the cheaper migrant workers at below minimum wage. The guest workers are also abused and told they can't leave or have their passports given back to them unless the employer is going ship them back to their country of origin. I wish people would think before they say they are for this program. It is not a good program for immigrants and it's definitely not a good program for the American poor or middle class.

BTW, Einstein was here legally and he immigrated legally.

No! First of all the minimum wage that is being paid is an insult to the American people. When Billions and Billions are sent to assist other countries yet our senate cringes at paying our people more then the current minimum wage rate. It's an atrocity. Allowing illegals into the U.S. and paying them minimum wage while they pay taxes is great. The unfortunate thing is that we have an ongoing unemployment problem in the U.S. The illegals are willing to do these jobs because they have no choice. If the Government stepped in and placed a close watch on all the rancher's and companies that hired illegal alien, made them pay a decent wage with benefits, etc. then we wouldn't have them crossing the border illegally because there would be no work. Think about it. They come here because they DO find work. People say that U.S. citizens will not do the work. No they won't at an atrocious rate of pay that the rancher's want to pay them. Next would be Health Care. These people will get ill, have babies (New American Citizen's), flu's, colds, accident's at work, rushed to emergency, etc. WHO is going to pay for that? Taxpaying U.S. Citizens. The amount of tax collected from the 100 million illegal immigrants and their minimum wage salary would not pay for that. We would as we have. The U.S. would benefit it focused on the U.S. Border's, Health Care, Social Security, jobs, etc. '-)

Legal immigrants are great. I've always lived in a diverse population and I wouldnt have it any other way.

Illegal immigrants bring down mininum wage and use resources meant for Americans. I don't even know why this is an issue. When people break the law they are punished. Why is that in question now, they are Illegal, they should go to where they are legal or be prosecuted.

So many people disagree with Ilegal immigration of ALL RACES: I personally know Native Americans, African Americans, Guatemalan Americans, Mexican Americans, Chinese Americans who all agree that ILLEGAL immigration is wrong...it's ILLEGAL.

ILLEGAL aliens are criminals for breaking our laws and there are absolutely NO BENEFITS from them. There are destroying our country and I'm sick of it. They take MUCH more that they give. $50 BILLION each year goes to support illegals. CA alone spends $9 BILLION! THAT'S WRONG! That money should be going to citizens!

Besides, WE DON'T NEED THE ILLEGALS. Both "mega marches" proved that very nicely!

Long-term benefits: I don't think so. But who's to blame? Those who hire them, none other.
