While it is true Islam has increased its membership quickly in the last century Christianity is ALMOST twice its membership. Islam is not the only religion to respect women. Your misconception of respect for women is a cultural problem not a religious one. Finally, getting children to memorize the Quoran before going to school is brainwashing. Allah gave all of mankind freewill. Islam does not teach tolerance of liberty.

FACT: IT CAME INTO EXISTENCE CENTURIES AFTER THE BIBLE AND TORA. People who believe in it seem to think a counterfeit comes before the original. Islamic believers cannot validate the claim that the Bible is the counterfeit because the Bible's existence preceded the Qur'aan.

FACT: THE QUR'AAN TESTIFIES ABOUT ONE TRUE GOD (ALLAH) AND HIS PROPHETS. These truths were in the Bible and Torah long before the Qur'aan. This fact reveals that the Qur'aan is not the first writtings about God and his prophets and suggests that the Qur'aan is not authentic but a forgery.

FACT: IT WAS WRITTEN BY THE ASSOCIATES OF MUHAMMAD (pbuh). Muhammad could not read nor write. Therefore, Muhammad could not verify the validity of the holy book.

FACT: THE QUR'AAN's EXISTENCE WAS AFTER THE TECHNOLOGY OF WRITTING WAS INVENTED. Believer's of the Qur'aan and Islam think the errors in the Bible prove it is not the Word of Allah. Nothing is further from the truth. The technology of writing didn't exist in the time when stories of salvation history were unfolding. So, naturally there are errors since the oral tradition existed before the invention of writing.

Firstly, I'd like to start off my saying Muhammed (pbuh) DID NOT marry a nine year old. He was betrothed to Aisha when she was between the ages of 9-11 and the marriage was consummated 3-5 years later. She was between 12-16.

Islam is the fastest growing religion, and does respect women (although not the only one that does so), and God did resue Jesus from the cross and saved him from death so he could return at the end of the world, but forcing everyone to memorize the Qu'ran goes against what Islam teaches.

Islam is the fastest growing religon in America, and not because they were forced to memorize the Qu'ran. Because they were thoughtful, intelligent, open-minded men and women who wanted to learn about Islam.

Also, on an ending note, 4 out of 5 converts to Islam are women.

Svetlana, are you kidding? "...the only one that respects women?" That almost doesn't even merit a response. Which Islam are you talking about? The one where they throw acid in your face if you run too fast? The one where you can be beaten if you uncover your face in public? If everyone memorized the Quran, they would find out that, once again, the ONLY guarantee that Muslims have to go to paradise is if they die in the performance of a jihad. Now, if you are Muslim, and you desire to see paradise, you must kill an infidel. An infidel is defined as anyone who rejects Islam. Well, that's a lot of people to choose from if you're looking to kill your way into paradise. And Allah rescued no one from the cross. He has no credibility, since he commands you to physically murder anyone who doesn't believe as you do. And If homosexuals are the fastest growing segment of the population, would you recommend we become like them, too?

I don't believe in compulsion in religion though so I would have to disagree --although I think it would be great if ppl memorized it and understood it too.

Islam may respect women, but many Islamic men do not... Tell me how other religions do not respect women...
I could care less about stories of jesus, he is a fiction to me, so saving a nonexistent person does not seem so special to me.

Christ could have called on a thousand angels to "rescue" Him from the cross, but He chose not to FOR A REASON. He didn't need your "allah" to save Him from Nothing. Christ IS the Savior.

It is my job as a parent to teach my children the quran. Not the public school. I am sure they would mess it up some way.
