A relative gave me a book called "You Can't Say That to Me" by Suzette Elgin. It outlines strategies for identifying verbal abuse, and how to counteract it without being confrontational. I am not being abused, so I don't know if it works or not. But this relative used the techniques against a supposedly abusive spouse, and it stopped the verbal abuse, although the spouse asked for a divorce several months later.

well if its hurting you and emotional is worst than any of them, then you have to tell this person what he is doing to you and if the person is not listening then its time to get away from them because it only gets worst and you have a life time of undoing what that person has done to you.
