Whenever a woman asserts herself sexually and she's rebuffed, it's not illogical that her feelings are hurt, whether or not it's the guy's fault. But really, you're rolling the dice when you try to initiate sex at 1 a.m. unless you know the guy (a) is regularly awake and ready at 1 a.m. and (b) doesn't have to be up the next day.
For a better outcome, first know your guy. Timing -- the average time for sex in the U.S., I believe, is something like 10:25... and if you want him to really go at it, earlier is better!
The other thing you can do is tease him throughout the day. Tell him what you're thinking about, and when you want to see him... let him stew over it for a few hours, knowing your coming over , getting turned on, expecting you.
If you do the surprise thing, it can be very fun, exciting, and erotic, but you have to accept the fact that there's a good chance that it might not go as planned.
(P.S. I would love it if my woman did that btw.)

It is a little silly that your feelings were hurt, but that is what feelings are is silly. Now just tell him and know that it is silly but you get to be silly. Also 1am is kinda late.

1am for a start!!! If he works he needs to sleep, go at a more reasonable hour, and you could have just gone there anyway, once you were there you never know what might have happened.

Too sleepy??? Is this guy crazy? I would have jumped out of bed and watched for you to arrive!
It is not silly to feel hurt. Just tell him how you feel. Let him know that you were trying to do something for him and you feel hurt.

I don't blame you, my feelings would be hurt too. I don't know if I would have called him to let you know that you were coming. Just surprise him next time...

You showed your hand too early. You should have called him from the doorstep and told him to answer the door and then reveal your suprise.
