Cycling London to Stoke on Trent - route please!?

I am thinking of spending a few days cycling from Ealing (where I live) to Stoke on Trent (where my family lives). Can anyone give me a good route which will be scenic and not too far from direct...

It is over 160 miles. I average about 14 mph on the flat, so 5 hours per day should see you up there in 2 days. But I would plan on 50 miles a day and do it in 3 days.
