hello, well summer is coming up and i want to get rid of some of my problem areas. Everyone tells me to eat a cereal for breakfast such as corn flakes or mini wheats and for lunch have a meat of some sort or the cereal again,(special k?) then for dinner have a normal dinner just watch my portions, i exercise pretty much every day and plan on shedding some of my weight by swim season.
any ideas for help? should i eat small little things spread out through the day to boost my metabolism or stick to what im doing? what worked for you? :)

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Eating little things throughout the day worked for me. But in order to make sure those little things I ate filled me up, I made sure that every mini meal contained sources of fiber and protein. So for breakfast I may have a bowl of high fiber cereal, skim milk, and a fruit salad. A mid morning snack would be apples and peanut butter. Etc, etc. Eating small meals throughout the day boosts your metabolism and it is a way to make sure you are never STARVING when you sit down to eat (and therefore eat less).

Small meals throught the day is best. You don't want to be eating just cereal either. You can have toast, eggs, anything you want as long as the portions aren't out of control.
