I agree we should support our troops by letting them go home. They are victems of our governments injustice and greed. We should be bitter towards politicians supporting the war instead. It's not the troops fault that they are forced into Iraq in the first place. So support our troops but don't support the war. We should support our troops the same way as we support victims of a tradgedy as it is a tradgedy that young men and women are placed in the face of danger forcefully by our governments greed.

Supporting the troops and supporting the war do not go hand in hand. This is a war we can not win without great military support from other nations. The situation has steadily declined without improvement for the last two years Our troops are dieing for nothing.

this is R&S I think your question is in the wrong catagory
to answer your question though, Our troops were sent to Iraq under false pretence thanx to our so called leader. We can support our troops and not support the cause

You are confusing supporting the troops with supporting the war. Many people feel that our soldiers are dying for a war that should not be happening. If trying to protect someone from death in an unnecessary war is not supporting them, I don't know what is.

Most of these answers are not well thought out and do not reply to the question.

Bitter about the war, about being lied to, really do not know why we are there, hate war, people are being killed, do not want to pay taxes.

None of those are reasons not to support our troops who are there. Would it surprise most of you to know they believe they are fighting terrorism to protect YOU. - Silver

Perhaps many of them are mad with themselves and can find no other way to express it. I recall that approval ratings for the war were initially around eighty percent, so four out of five people agreed with it. But people are fickle, and if anything takes longer than a week to finish, they begin to waver. Now a majority pretend they didn't agree with the war, making them liars and hypocrites. Wars don't end overnight; they can last for years and years. I have a cousin over there right now, and he is proud to be serving. I am disappointed that we didn't have a better strategy for dealing with the situation after the initial, large-scale combat was over, but I still support the war effort.

People are upset because we supposedly went over there to rid Iraq of WOMD's (Weapons of Mass Destruction), but when we went in, we found none. They forget that we kept saying, "Look out, Saddam, we're coming!" Saddam had 6 full months to get rid of and/or hide the WOMD's.

People say it is war for oil. Strange, I have yet to see one drop of Iraqui oil show up at my gas pump!

If we went in to rid Iraq of an evil despot (Saddam Hussein), we have done it; mission accomplished! Bring thr troops home, already!

But if we went in to bring peace and freedom to Iraq, we are far from accomplishing the mission. Maybe it will never be accomplished to our satisfaction; who knows?

The problem is, President Bush keeps saying we will never withdraw until the job is complete--but I have yet to hear one clear-cut definition of what "the job being complete" is!

I support our troops, and I support ridding the world of evil and terrorism wherever it can be found. But I, too, am saddened by Americans and our allies losing their lives for seemimgly no purpose. That is basically the bottom line: People want the Allies to take our soldiers out of harm's way. Bush's contention, however, is that to remove our troops from Iraq would make the world a less safe place for you and me. Is he right? That, it seems to me, is what the controversy is all about.

Let's try a hypothetical experiment. Let's say that suddenly all Allied troops are going to be withdrawn from Iraq at noon tomorrow. POOF! Noontime comes, and the troops are out. What happens next? I say instantly, Iraq will become embroiled in one of the worst and bloodiest civil wars in modern times, Iraqis killing Iraqis. Now, we have to ask ourselves: is that what we want? After all, Allied troops will no longer be being killed, right?

Or, do we stay, and keep trying to save millions of innocent Iraqi lives?

Again, I do not like to see anyone killed, but I do support our troops!

Most people support the troops and the men and women out there - its the reason they are out there to begin with that makes people upset.

We support the troops.

We just don't support the stupid president who put them in harm's way so he could have his little war. I don't want our troops dead, and they're dying for no damned reason.
