You do not believe in facts, you know them (we all hope anyway). A fact cannot be proven true or untrue...if its a fact, its true.
Why do the Christians have to teach you this? Do they not teach this in atheist school?

"which can be proven true or untrue? " u've hit the nail on the head........there's a 50 % of it being true and a 50 % chance of it being untrue...
what's the proof of any God? 0%
which is better? 50% or 0%?
personally,i choose 50%
besides, how do u think the world developed this far if it were not for the "trial and error method?"
not having the PERFECT answer is not an excuse to not even LOOK for an answer and resort to "God created it"

Because until and IF the fact is proven untrue...right up until that given point in time there was evidence to make it a fact.
What facts are you eluding to?

Because the christians keep telling me Lord of the Rings was just a book, none of it actually happened. They keep telling me to prove it when I tell them otherwise. They say I'm living in a fantasy land. I tend to disagree.
Edit: The one ring has been destroyed, that is why their are no more giants, Orcs, or walking, talking trees. Dwarves and Hobbits have integrated into society and can be seen in movies such as Autsin Powers and Me, Myself, and Irene. The Elves have sailed away, and the Wizards have gone off to establish their own religions (Judaeism, Christianity, etc...). Anytime you see a god with a long white beard, he is a descendent of Gandalf the White. Jesus was one of his younger followers.

Ummm - a fact is something which has occurs or continues to occur. It is reality and can not be proven untrue and does not need to be proven as true.

Facts are already proven. Theories are things that can go either way in but can't be proven with current technology. Have a good day.

Here's a good question: why believe in something as wishy washy as faith, which can NEVER be proven true?
As certain or uncertain as 'facts' may be, they will always be more reliable than faith.
