What gets to me is when people make it seem like anyone who is Mormon is stupid for what they believe. When they say things like, "It's obvious that they are wrong!", or "How can they believe this??", etc. When they phrase their statements that way, they are attacking the people themselves, and not just the faith...even though they may not realize it.
To me, the Book of Mormon is true, as is the Holy Bible. I believe the LDS church is true. As a Christian, I believe that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Lord, I love the belief that families can be together forever. I love the high moral standards that the Church has instilled in me and my family. I love everything about it.
For someone to imply that I am following a "false doctrine", or for someone to tell me that I am "not Christian"...they are basically pointing a finger in my face and telling me that I am wrong. This is something that means so much to me...and they are just flat-out telling me that I'm wrong and that what I believe in my heart is a "lie"? How rude does that look? Don't get me wrong, disagreement and speculation...that is one thing. But there's no need to be rude about it and put down others for what they believe in. That's not Christ-like behavior. I respect everyone's beliefs.

Sorry you feel specifcily crusified however if you look through Y!A there seem to be allot more Q's not about mormons than about them on here. When you consider most of the "Questions" on here are just people taking shots at the beliefs of others I think this indicates, that at least on here, Mormonism is not THE target, but one of many.
As for why people may dislike the religion, there are many reasons. Some people simply decide to not like things, often based on no sound reason. I personally do not agree with Mormonism, that is one reason some choose to not like it,ie, not prefer it.

I don't really have a problem with the Mormon religion( I am not saying it is great but then again what religion doesn't have it's faults? Also, who am I to judge what others do?), but I will tell you why most people do...It is because we, as in non-Mormons, constantly hear from Mormons that we are the devil or we are so evil, blah, blah! Also, we hear stories of young women being married off to old men and then there is the whole Bigamy thing and the Evolution debate ...Therefore it is very hard to accept the Mormon religion as being nothing more than a bunch of men using religion as an excuse to feed their sexual appetites and to keep their followers ignorant and uneducated. I' m sorry that sounds very harsh, I am not trying to be mean... I hope this gives you an idea of why people act the way they do towards Mormons. Who cares what others think anyways, if you are happy as a Mormon be a Mormon! Like I said it's none of my business to judge your religion.

Jesus said if you are my disciples you will love one another. By this you would know. It was also written if you say you love God who you cannot see and you hate your brother who you can see how can you say the love of God is in you? Most christians sit on couches dont share the Gospel and talk about Mormons. Who do you think is about their Fathers business the fruit inspectors on their couches or the guys on bikes with white shirts and ties? And by the way how do you think this looks to a non or new believer in Christ. If more christians would stop hating other christians and started practicing the word they preach and practice love maybe denominational barriers would go down. Love covers a multitude of sin and if you dont love your brother this is sin! One body, one spirit. One Lord. One faith,One baptism,One God and father of all. All christians should think about these things, especially and pray for all believers in Jesus and his atonement for all mankind. People that continue to act like this should be ashamed of themselves.L,A Marzulli believes in UFOS and hybrid humans. Chuck Missler a christian also believes in UFOS and now some christians are dissing them. Where does pt stop? Joseph

There has always been and always will be a vary suspicious disrespect for all religions that were started after the death of Christ, there has never in mankind's history been a need for what I call right wing Christianity, It was Christ that started it by saying to peter upon this rock I will build my church, he did not say go forth and start a new religious denomination on every corner of the street like we have today, the beginning of Christianity stems from the catholic church, and therefore I do not believe in any other denominations or religious organizations, I see them simply as money grabbing institutes that pray on the poor and elderly, and as God is my witness come judgement day the gates of heaven will be closed to them all, may God have mercy on them all.

I don't think they dislike it more than any other. However, I do believe that people are very misled about the Mormon church and take other people's opinions as the truth about what the religion teaches. That said, many times people attack each other because they fear that which they do not know. Thus, the Mormon church has become (and has been) the whipping boy for the religious community.

The church teaches an elitist form of religion: Mormons are right, the rest are wrong. There is no compromise. That's why.
Also, the mormon church teaches:
* That men may become gods.
* Men must enter into plurality of wives to become said gods.
* Jews came to America 400BC and created an civilization that numbered millions.
* Babylonian Tower builders came to America in 2200BC.
* Both built ships for transoceanic voyages.
* Nothing remains of either civilization as told in the Book of Mormon, but they like to identify the Maya, Aztecs and Olmecs as "remnants".
* Jesus came to America in 33AD and taught basic mormonism.
* Women get to be pregnant forever, but cannot be church leaders.
* Your skin color changes according to your belief or lifestyle.
* Up to 1978, blacks could not be priesthood holders, then god changed his mind.
* You can baptize dead people into the church like Hitler and Stalin and Einstein.
* The current prophet opinion/prophecy overwrites previous opinion/prophecy so you can appear more law-abiding.
* You're very sinful if you murder or rape someone, or drink coffee.
* Gays and Lesbians are sinful ungodly people that you don’t ever want to live next to.
* Joseph Smith’s first vision was either of Moroni, Nephi, or angels or Jesus. And, he was either twelve or fourteen or sixteen at the time.

Mormon Christians AND Jehovah Witness
Christians are simply doing what Jesus has commanded them to do: "All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Me.
Go then and make disciples of ALL nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father, Son and The Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded
you, and behold I am with you forever more. Amen {so be it)." Matt. 28:19-20.
AND this is the command which ALL other Christian denominations have chosen to obey. *"It is the sole Purpose for their lives"
This gives them peace and Happiness.
IF people are not interested in hearing their messages [of ALL the many, many various Christian denominations in the world "which make up the Religion of Christianity"] then compassionately and respected say No Thank You - to live peaceably with all people. If interested, one will begin coming into your home to be discipled, as Jesus commanded his followers to do.
*Note: Jesus said [to ALL His followers]
"IF you Love Me, keep My commandments"
John 14:15.
ALL Followers of Jesus - whatever their denominations - are simply obeying Jesus'
commandments out of love for him.

Heck yea, i think of the catholic's worship Mary as an idol, i think of that Methodist attempt to get their human beings to get into heaven via works, while jesus say's being saved is a unfastened present, i think of Baptists existence is quite lifeless because of the fact they non secular presents are lifeless, i've got confidence the JW is a cult, i've got confidence Muslims deny the divinity of jesus and Wiccans use devil's power.

I hope this is a joke.
Mormonism teaches that Jesus and Satan are brothers. How unbiblically whacked it that?
Mormonism teaches that a bunch of Gentiles are actually a lost tribe of Jews. DNA can destroy that theory is 2 seconds.
One other thing that you should seriously ask yourself is this, Who is the Father of Lies according to the Bible?
What is the #1 Crime in Salt Lake City? Fraud.
The Apple does not fall far from the tree. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were both frauds. They were not even good at it, but multiples wives and children are not going to argue with Grandpa too much.
Mormonism is another religion born of its spiritual father --- The Devil. Matthew 8:44
