It bothers me that so many pastors lack the courage to address this matter from the pulpit. Better yet, where are the older women who are supposed to teach the younger about these things? Also, what does it say about those of us men who are supposed to be keeping our thoughts pure? Do we subconsciously reward them by being overly friendly, effectively teaching them that attention will be given to the naughty girls?
The instinct, quite frankly, is sexual, and we need to do a better job with how we treat people so that the church doesn't become just another meat market.

Young girls and young women are bombarded with images of thin, sexually attractive clantily clad women everywhere. They are growing up thinking this is the normal way to behave. If the generations older than they are do not begin to loudly speak up this trend will continue. If the generations older than they are do speak up, the ACLU will jump up and others will say we are attempting to force our morals on the world. As Christians our only hope is to start in our churches and homes and teach our young people the proper way to behave. If anyone has any doubts about small girls being targeted, check out the cartoons put out there today and take a stroll the girls section at any store, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, JC Pennies, Sears, anywhere. The clothing selection has become appalling.

The Bible says that, in the end times, there will be many who have a form of godliness, but deny the power of God. Anyone who wears a cross over a revealing top is making a fashion statement playing on contrasts -- nothing more.
I wear a cross (not a crucifix) every day. Since I'm ... um... busty (probably t.m.i., but it's relevant here), I'm always sure to wear modest tops at all times, because I don't want to dishonor the One I worship.
EDIT: "Regius," I wish I could give you ten thumbs up, but I had to settle for one. Amen, brother!

Some women feel that the wearing of low tops has nothing to do with their Christianity. Also, they may feel that their large breasts are a blessing..maybe something that does not need to be hidden. I'd be more shocked to see someone doing this in a church more so than at a mall. This is because traditionally women are supposed to dress conservatively at church. But many people change once they exit the church doors.

This question brings up a person morals...
You have to wonder what the female was thinking when she woke up. For one I see she 3is lying to herself. How can you wear a very revealing blouse titties all hanging there for the men to gawk at. Yet you don't want them saying anything to you about your breast. Then you place a cross on top of them. Ok where is her heart for real?
It's confusion.. She obviously doesn't know how to dress herself and her parents don't care.
Personally, I don't wear a cross unless I am praying and you will never see it. The personal relationship that one has with God should be within themselves. Revealing your confusion on your chest just makes me know how ignorant the female is.. Just a thought..

Lots of people just consider the cross a cool piece of jewelry and nothing more. Others consider it a good luck charm. I've even heard of people who believe that if they die while wearing a cross, that they will automatically go to heaven.
Madonna used to wear a cross while dancing suggestively around in her music videos. For believing Christians, this type of thing is both annoying and sad.

You have a point, but I venture to say that we can't win for losing, can we? haha
If I dress conservatively and keep myself covered, then I am called a "prude!" If I reveal the slightest bit too much skin, then I am a "hypocrite."
I suppose this is why I choose to honor my Heavenly Father and not man who judges me without knowledge of the truth.
Yes! I choose to remain 'covered' in public. Though I assure you that God has made provision between a husband and wife that the word "prude" need not exist between them.
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS:
Regius: I too appreciate very much what you shared. Amen!

If the cleavage is revealed, usually the behind isn't where the instinct is.

I think these women are hypocrites. Revealing cleavage and crosses don't go together. Why do so many women demean themselves wearing revealing clothing???

Another sore subject.
It bothers me a lot.
So too does improper clothing at church. We had a youth mass last summer. This poor girl got up to do the second reading, in transparent white pants with a black thong underneath. When she bowed before the tabernacle she mooned the whole congregation.
And yet, her mother sat there beaming with joy.
