Lol!! For some reason my cat will only eat tesco own brand food, he turns his nose up at Whiskas and Felix.
I get him Tesco Finest on a special occassion!!!
And to all those people who think that cheap food isnt as good as more expensive food you are totally wrong my cat is completely healthy with a great coat and lovely bright eyes!!

I am surprised that she has asked you to look after her kitty with your attitude. The answer to your question is....feed her cat the same quality of food that you feed your cats! If you are cheap and worried about how much it will cost to feed her cat, ask her for some money. I am sure that she would happily pay you to ensure that her kitty is well cared for. As a cat owner, you should know how sensitive their stomachs can be. It is always inadvisable to just start feeding a cat something different than what it has been eating all at once. Seriously, if you cannot be kind and take good care of her cat, just tell her that you would rather not look after it.

Well, did the owner give you food to feed her cat? Or is she expecting you to pay for it? I agree with the previous post it might not agree with their bellys and they get sick, when the owner is away and you have to take them to the vet it will be even more expensive. Think of it this way would you like your neighbour to feed your cat the cheap crap they brought from lidl?

well, I got two new kittens a couple of weeks ago and with all the food recalls i swore that i would never ever again by any cheap supermarket brands to feed to them, i had to have my all white 4 year old cat put to sleep three weeks ago and the cheap food was half the problem. I only buy food from the vet hospital now and i pay 17.96 for a small bag and i could not care if it cost me 50.00 they are worth it to me.It is not very nice to want to give your neighbours cat the cheap food, I hope that your neighbour is not going on a long holiday.
feed your neighbours the food that they want you to feed their cat and you can feed your cat whatever you want to.
I would rather feed my kittens the expensive food and eat the cheap food myself, my kittens are treated as if they were babies and i take good care of them and you should treat your neighbours cat the same as you treat your own and i hope that it is not cheap food.

No you should not give your cat's the Whiskas, you have a duty of care to your neighbours cat you have agreed to look after it and their cat is used to the Whiskas they it may not like the other food. I am glad you are not my neighbour i wouldnt leave my cat's with you.

You can't give her cat the whiskas in front of you cats because they will get jealous and play evil little tricks on you when you least expect it. Just give them the whiskas and keep a little for after she takes the cat back. Then you slowly wean your cats off the whiskas, they are easily tricked but evil little creatures.

you be conscious of what I advise, close up and cope with it. I had an identical situation too a pair of years in the past. there replaced right into a stray male cat that lived around our section and he might come via the front room window and initiate off meowing. possibly the male cat is calling for a girl cat or maybe the male cat basically needs interest and feels ignored or lonely. why do no longer you supply it some interest and feed the cat some kitty snacks.

Ideally if you LIKE this neighbour you should find out what brand she uses herself - if Whiskas then that.Unless a Cat is really used to eating Whiskas I`d refrain from using it - it`s a bit rich for many cats.

Well you should know what the owner is feeding the cat as if you feed it anthign it else it well become unwell. If you don't know a safe bet is a mixture of Whiskas and Felix and even some cheap tuna in brine is good.

If you are watching the neighbor's cat, they should provide the food or money to buy it. Don't give them crap you wouldn't feed your own. Treat the cat like your own and give it the whiskas.
