What would happen if a person doesn't pay off all of their student loans? And what if they leave the country?

I've been working 2 jobs for the past year and a half to make sure I pay mine off, but does anything happen to a person who doesn't pay theirs off? If they leave the country, will they be allowed back in?

well, one, depends where you go when you leave the country--is it going to be a foreign address or an address on a military base, for example, where the U.S. gov can easily still find you. my guess is they simply start asking you for the money when you get back. i don't believe they will keep you from returning, they will simply set a collector on your butt and one of these days they will probably find you! (when i say 'you' i don't necessarily mean YOU, but whomever you are speaking about).
