Just posted as question. I got many "we want you to see God because we care about you" I would be confused and angry if I was forced to try and see "Jesus" not only because it wouldn't work, but I would be forced to conform to your society. If you 'cared', you'd respect my beliefs. Usually when you care about someone, you get to know them. All you see is a charicature of me. I am a very good person. With higher morals than most. I am not a loose moraled Pagan or some hippie who engages in innappropriate behaviour. My morals are actually higher than that of most Christians. I am already saved by this and my beliefs. Christains, traditionally think that anyone not of their religion is heathen. If I am a heathen, why do you care about me?

Religious people consider it "caring" when they tell you that if you don't convert to THEIR version of things, your immortal soul is damned.

Great bunch, those religious people.

Question:
Christians , traditionally think that anyone not of their religion is heathen. If I am a heathen, why do you care about me?

Answer:
Part of their theology is that Christ will not return until the fulfillment of the Great commission. That every person on the planet hears of Jesus. So they don't really care about you, they care about doing what they were told.

Also most people out here in this message board never got the teaching in how to be civil when having a conversation with another person.

Dear, you must take a bit of your own advice on this one. You say that christians see a charicature of you- but the opposite seems to be true. Afterall, you're the one adressing them as a group, and you're doing it in some rather cliched ways.

You say "if you cared, you'd respect my beliefs" and "when you care about someone, you get to know them." If you get to know christianity, you'll come to understand why they are trying to "save" you. You'll understand that they see you differently from how you see yourself. Specifically, christians see the world through a lens of delusions created by their belief in the God of Abraham and the mythical sacrifice of Jesus of Nazareth.

Christians don't have the same "live and let live" policy that so many other great religions support. Christians honestly believe that the only way to save you from damnation is to convert you to their own faith. (Usually to their own quirky version of the faith at that.)

Many actually believe that you are literally under the control of evil spirits who guide you away from God's mercy. They believe that you are deceived by them into your "false" religious practices.

And while some christians may respond to my comments with something like "Well not _all_ christians are like that"- they are either bad christians themselves, or they are in denial of the nature of their own practices.

It may be difficult medicine to swallow, but the answer is this: christians are well meaning but delusional, and they will not stop trying to convert you whether you want them to or not.

Sure, I care so much about you that I respect your choice to head the wrong way out of a burning building deeper into the most dangerous part of the inferno and I won't say a word to offend you or change your mind or direct you to the clear, open and safe way out. And when I am out and safe and those that love you ask me where you are I can feel really good about how much I cared about you and your beliefs and let you go your own way.

Christianity is not about comparing morals- not one of us has 'good' morals when compared to the standards of God- not one can attain righteousness through their action- we have all fallen short. Fortunately God , in His perfect love has provided an open, clear and safe way back to Him- Jesus is the only mediator between God and man and He is the way to forgiveness and restored fellowship with our creator.

Why would I care about you if you are a heathen? Because while we were still sinners God loved us- not with the emotional unstable love that we know but choosing to love us with a perfect love that covers a multitude of sins and casts out all fear- He loved me while I was a heathen and in His love provided a way for me to be restored to fellowship with Him. What right would I have to receive that love then refuse to share it.
I am sorry that many Christians do not represent the love of God accurately - many do act as if they are "better" than others, but that is not the heart of God. I love God because He first loved me when I did not deserve it and could not earn it and because He loves me, I am able to love you and share the truth about His love with you.

First of all I think several people have gotten the wrong idea on your post. You are speaking of Christians in a GENERAL term. It was not directed at every Christian on the face of the earth. I have wonderful Christian friends who have no problem with my Pagan faiths. They actually find it quiete interesting and have nice and respectful theological debates. We always learn something new.
But I also SOOOO much understand your frusteration. For every wonderful Christian I meet, I meet about three very judgemental ones that would as soon see me burn at the stake then actually get to KNOW me. And when they say they will pray to Jesus for thier soul that you will do the same and speak or Osiris. That way we are all covered. :)

this is the problem that christianity has ,that no other religion has...they think that just being good is not enough and they try haaaarrrd to "save" people..thus becoming EXTREMELY unpopular in society...

i totally agree with u and i can understand your frustration when people interfere without being asked.i am a buddhist and i live an extremely moral life as well so yes,it's very irritating when i'm not left alone...they should respect the "free will of man" they talk about so much and leave people alone..if people WANT to be "saved" they would ASK.

Boy, kiddo. Do you have a mighty big chip on your shoulder.

You speak about being judged, while you yourself judge all Christians.

I have many pagan friends. We get along just fine.

The core of conversion is not "caring" it is "changing." Conversion means to change. Religious conversion means to change one's heart.

I understand what you mean by "force" you to see Jesus. That just doesn't work. There is no way. Sadly, many of my evangelical cousins here don't understand that their particular brand of "in your face" evangelism frightens away more people than it brings in.

Jesus tells us to care about everyone. That's why we care. Those of us who are genuine any way. There are still Pagan writings regarding the earliest days of Christianity. They were amazed by the kindness of the Christians. How they cared for people. Even those who were cruel to them.

Sadly, many of us have lost touch with that.

I wonder just how moral you are when you can throw insults as easily as you do about pagans and hippies. Remember, if you are not a member of the Abrahamic religions, you are a pagan. Good morality would show respect for everyone, not just your particular group or just yourself.

Yes it is, I am a catholic and I believe in god, but as for Jesus I believe he was a bit of a rebel, I am of the belief that one believe in God with all your mind, heart, and soul for what you perceive him to be, and if more people were to respect that of others our world would be a better place. may God bless.

I can respect the person of a faith regardless of which but if the faith is not the truth then it originates with Satan and I have no respect for false faiths including those of christendom that teach falsehoods.
