1. Yes, if you hire them you are allow them to stay in this country and you are footing the bill for them to bring all their family and friends here too.
2. Carson City, NV
3. Real Estate, business owner
4. 40-50
5. I love Mexican people. I grew up with them in Yuma, Az.
Some were my bestfriends and so it was much like I was living with them. I have even picked lemons as a child with the immigrants. And still I firmly believe we must have stronger border controls. EVERYONE wants to live in the USA the land of opportunity. Where do we draw the line. We take people from all over the world, even Arab countries like Iraq.
They come here learn the system and then try to change this country. I witnessed it first hand. Why do we take all? Were do we draw the line or do we allow our country to become saturated and over-populated like India (and we know their problems).
A good example is a town I lived in in CA. I moved there when 36,000 people it now has 300,000 and growing in only 20 years. The crime is rampant, not enough schools, not enough city serivces, not enough homes, not enough stores, not enough post offices. The town is impacted and can hardly function. The city is BROKE. Why? Many immigrants moved in from Los Angeles to find a better place to live and then they ruined this community. Many are illegals. City after city this is happening.
We must also teach new comers to this country about our laws BEFORE they get in trouble. Half of all prisons are illegals or former illegals. They come here from their country and think that they can act the same (graffiti, drugs, rape, abuse) and then they go to prison. I have seen it. Our tax dollars support them in there too.
Where does it all end. I say legal or nothing.

Yes, I have had an issue with IA. I got in a car accident with one. No driver's license, no insurance.
Luckily neither of us was injured and it was just a bump. I didn't call the cops. I should've.

Some people say that IA's take jobs that Americans don't want.
My answer to that is, there are many American citizens living on welfare. I'm sure many of them WILL work if the employers weren't looking to make bigger profits.

Some people say that they pay into the system through the fake SSN's and they will never be able to collect.
So, why is that good for anyone? Isn't that very close to slavery? Americans get to benefit off of the hard work of people that don't get compensated. That's not fair to ANYONE LEGAL OR NOT.
Some people say that they will work for much less. So, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. What kind of life can you have at a discounted labor rate? What kind of life is the business owner benefitting from increased profits because they look for cheap labor?

Why don't the illegal immigrants go back and rally for change in their own countries? There are still people there that need this change and don't have the luxury of moving here. So, the illegals abandon their friends and families instead of making a change for the better for everyone.

Reggio Di Calabria, Italy, 1994. Came in contact with some 25 illegal migrants from Iraq who had been rounded up by Italian coast guard and immigration police, after being dropped off the coast by a vessel, believed to be Turkish.

Ages- between 12 and 30, including four women. Most were well skilled.

Paris, October 2005: Ilegal citizens from Pakistan & Bangladesh: Working near the Eiffel Tower and other landmarks, selling souvenirs to tourists. All were aged between 12 and 35 years and most were well educated but living in apalling conditions. Some also work outside Marne La Valley- Chessy railway station from where you access Disneyland Paris. All Asians, these illegals too sell souvenirs on streets to tourists.

Pattaya, Thailand, November 2006: Aged between 0 to 30 years- Cambodian illegal immigrants working as house maids, drivers, vendors and other menial jobs.

Amsterdam, Netherlands, February 2007: Illegals from Sri Lanka, working as hotel service staff for extremely low pay plus accommodation and food. They were six, all in their mid-20s and had passed their secondary school.

Never had any sort of problems with illegals. I work as travel writer and profiler and have met illegals often during course of my work.

Most illegals I met were sad people, forced into jobs or work they would never have taken were they in their own country. People who had become illegals when young also do not see any prospects of finding a girlfriend or wife in future, due to their status in a foreign land. All of them (Paris, Pattaya), flee at the first sight of cops and work under cover of darkness. And a majority of illegals I interviewed regretted the decision they had taken to stay or enter a country illegally. Given an opportunity to rehabilitate with dignity in their own country- many are willing to return.

Currently I'm living in Dubai, UAE for work.

I live in New York City, and come upon illegal immigrants every single day. The only illegal immigrants I have ever known personally were from various hispanic countries, and they were just about the nicest, warmest, most caring people I ever met. I'm in my 20s and I work for a non-profit arts organization.
I have never had any problems with illegal aliens. A few who I met didn't speak very good English and I know only a little Spanish- so it was challenging to communicate, but in one conversation we both learned a lot of eachothers' language.

Yes; I have been in contact with aliens on far too many occasions. I have a great amount of respect for Hispanics (I single them out because they have brought this problem to us and they are by far the greatest number of violators) and enjoy most of them regardless of their status. I was born and raised in Southern Idaho where we relied and survived on immigrant labor. I have no idea how many were legal and never gave it any thought; it didn’t seem to be a problem then. It has become a problem now that there are so many here and they have made an issue out of it.
I welcome all immigrants to the United States; my motto has always been. “Communicate Coordinate and Cooperate” and I apply the same attitude to my dealings with ALL people. Key here is COOPERATE! Do it legally, do it right! We have legal ways for people to enter, remain and work in the United States. These laws have roots back to our very beginnings and respect the interests and needs of not only United States citizens but the people who seek entry into our great nation. The laws set a standard for them and for us. The problem comes from failing to live up to the standard.
Is there a way to fix this problem short of conflict? I believe there is a way we can continue to maintain a program supportable to both sides and provide benefits to both. Keep in mind that although the person is working for ridiculous wages they are costing the rest of us a bundle; medical, law enforcement, schools, road and infrastructure needs; things we pay taxes, insurance, fees and assessments for that they do not. These things continue to burden the rest of us including the legal aliens.
What we should do (in a very simple explanation) is provide controlled amnesty to those who are illegally here by: (1) ask them to identify themselves (2) record their information (3) deport them (4) Develop non-governmental employment firms who take orders from employees for alien assistance/employment (give U.S. job priories to those who took advantage of this amnesty) and allow them to return to the United States legally. Those firms would be responsible to see the worker is properly employed and protected. We (U.S.) would have to improve the number of aliens we accept but such a control would allow more people to legally be here, under better control and protected from the unethical and illegal acts they suffer from. We would also have to strengthen our laws to punish an employer who knowingly employees an illegal. This could be a win-win for all of us; BUT, to turn our backs on the problem giving amnesty to those who have been able to slip into our country is not acceptable. Those here will be followed by more and more; open amnesty is only a small band aid over a large sucking chest wound.
I am from Nevada – “Freedoms Last Frontier”, I am a retired law enforcement officer and government manager and have lived all my 60+ years in various places in the United States; I love America and ALL those people who have made it what it was. A crime is a crime and every crime has a punishment attached to it; we are a nation of laws and we need to remain so. We can not turn our back on this problem; it will not go away with open amnesty, it will only get worse. No open amnesty that would allow illegals (from any country) to remain in the United States regardless of how long they have been here can be accepted. Make it a win-win proposition for the United States, for our neighbors, and for society as a whole.

1) LOTS OF TIMES - Almost hit me on the freeway due to poor driving skills (Baja California plates indicate they were illegal) / truck loaded so high it looked like the crap was going to fall our (AKA dangerous)
2) Oceanside CA (north San Diego county)
3) professional - financial/legal
4) proud to be 50 (end of the month)

Also, in the last week I have come in contact at fast food places that the person (don't know status) couldn't even pronounce a number in English so that people can understand. e.g., Subway - she said $20 when it was $12 (even repeated it a 2nd time). Can't they speak the language when they are on the front line? Geeze!

Yes I am generalizing but typically the illegals drive poorly, have cars that are not maintained & cars that stink. Many times they drive so slow as to not bring attention since they don't want a cop to stop them. They don't think about the fact that they are a hazzard and that they are bringing more attention to themselves by driving 55 in a 65 mph zone (when everyone else is going 70+.)

BTW, during the "mega" protest yesterday (that was a total bomb) i didn't see a single Baja California plate on the road. I usually see at LEAST 10 everyday!

Uh, It's kind of hard to understand what your talking about. Ya, I've "come in contact with an Alien(Illegal) directly". I live around KC, and I'm in my 20's. I've never had any issues with illegals. They just cook the food and clean the dishes. Build the Highways and repair the roads. Whistle while they work and eat sack lunches. I can't blame them. If I was from Mexico I would live and work illegally in the states too.

Yes in south Texas they cause a lot of problems on the roads because they can't read the English signs. I guess in mexico they don't have highways or they are very different from ours in Texas because they drive the wrong way down the fast lane!
