If God is in you, you will find Him in your soul. It is your soul that craves God or a higher power or a relationship with God or a higher power. I personally have other feelings about what resides in your soul...but they are controversial and I speak only to those I know well about them.

Well this is an interesting Question
A relationship of the Soul & God
To me it would be a relationship with the Soul & God
Well if you meditate you form a relationship with your Soul & God in search of answers to questions that puzzle you that no one else can answer except your Soul and through meditation you will receive the connection to God.
No book or person can give you what you seek until you take the chance to meditate and truly find what you are looking for
"Inner Peace, Inner Love and most of all Inner Understanding of your Soul"
It maybe more then you are willing to understand I don't know I will leave it with you : )

Soul is a small part of God. Because God is a Super Soul. The main theme of our life is to dilute our soul in Super Soul : God/ Almighty by adopting path of Dedication & Devotion.

Our Relationship with Krishna
Love for Krishna resides eternally in the heart of every soul. It is reawakened by hearing and chanting about Krishna. When that love is awakened and attains its purest stage, the soul returns to Krishna and lives with Him eternally, never to return to this world again.
Spiritual life is based on the exchange of love, or Bhakti. Pure Bhakti attracts God. Krishna likes it best when the Bhakti is so pure it isn’t touched by feelings of awe and reverence toward Him.
That type of love allows for the greatest intimacy. Krishna is most attracted by intimate love: a love that loves Krishna just because He is so wonderful, not because He is God and deserves or commands our love.
Each soul has a unique relationship with Krishna in one of five moods:
with feelings of awe and reverence
as a servant or one who gives protection
as a friend
as a parent or elder
as a lover
"It is the living entity's constitutional position to be an eternal servant of Krishna because he is the marginal energy of Krishna and a manifestation simultaneously one and different from the Lord, like a molecular particle of sunshine or fire." —Sri Chaitanya in Chaitanya-charitamrita, Madhya 20.108

do you mean soul or spirit?if you mean soul, well for me it's the same as psyche, the set of psychological characteristics, such as temperament, character, motivation, abilities and stuff.but if you talk about spirit, well, this is really interesting.the way i see it is: God gave us bodies and spirits, our bodies are material, thus they are limited, they are finite, whereas spirit is infinite, it has no limits, coz spirit is the part of God.can you imagine?the infinite spirit is placed into a finite body. and this spirit gives its properties, its qualities to everything in us, to our wishes and needs, for instance.has it ever occured to you that human needs are infinite?we need food - ok, i've got some food, i'm not hyngry, but now i need smth sweet, like chocolat, is it becoz i'm hungry?i drink water, coz i feel thirsty, but do i drink wine for the same reason?i need clothes to protect me from cold, but then i need some fashionable outfit, and i start thinking that this t-shirt doesn't look nice with these jeans, not talking about shoes!it is all becoz our needs are infinite, like our spirit, like God, that's why we are never satisfied with what we have, coz an infinite, eternal, everlasting and everexisting matter can not be satisfied with anything material.for the same reason we can't see God - becoz God is infinite, and we are finite.this conflict between our body and our spirit is the main reason for the humankind to be in a constant mess.

That is a very elaborate subject matter, but briefly it can be stated that a devotee is in a relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead in one of five different ways:
1. One may be a devotee in a passive state;
2. One may be a devotee in an active state;
3. One may be a devotee as a friend;
4. One may be a devotee as a parent;
5. One may be a devotee as a conjugal lover.

Some religions say, "We are all tiny bits and pieces of God's soul. When we die, our soul reunites with God's." I do not understand what this all means.

Think of it in terms of the relationship between Invisible Pink Unicorns and the Celestial Tea Pot.
Makes sense now, eh?

This is where it all started:
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
