When they stand before God and He asks them what gave them the right to be the judge of who is going to hell.?

What gave them the right to declare that it was their way or the highway?

If you answer the bible, I bet he will laugh in your face.

well, i am afraid *you* will not be laughing. God's word is God.
You will be judged by it as you should know. No excuses. You know enough to put your comment so no excuse.

the "my way or the highway" thinking is not truly Christian.

It denies the fact that we were created with free will, free to choose God or not even though God has already chosen us.

the heart a of true Christian should be like that of Christ who stood on the outskirts of a city and wept because he wanted to gather them in like a hen gathers in her chicks for protection. His weeping was because they used their free will to not choose God.

What so many well intentioned Christians fail to remember is that the relationship we have with God is a covenant relationship. A covenant relationship is where both parties have freely chosen each other. That is the way God set it up. That is why the 'church' is often referred to as the bride of christ. In a marriage you have a covenant relationship(opposite of a shotgun wedding), two people who have freely chosen each other. God does not force God's self upon us.

My experience has been that the 'my way or the highway' people are those who have something they greatly treasure and have become smug about it. They have not let the gift they have recieved fully change their own lives before they go out and try to shine for God. What happens is they end of turning so many people away from the gift. Look at the Pharisees of Jesus' day. They were the most religious people in the world and Jesus had major problems with them.

To answer your question: What will christians do? if such a scenario would happen I suspect that on that day when they will be able to see the truth clearly and plainly they will have to bow their heads and say, "We were so stupid and wrong."

I don't think that it is just christians that do this. Eventually we will all stand before God on judgement day and I don't think that he will ask that question to you as long as you have followed his words of scripture. He gave us all free will.
I also believe he won't laugh in no ones face. If you answer the bible and get it wrong, I bet he'll give you a Sunday school lesson before sending you on through the gate or back down to hell.

If people answer the Bible He probably will tell that's not right. The Bible says for no man to judge unless he wants to be judged by the same manner. It is up to God to judge people no us. It's not us as Christians that condems people to hell we shouldn't anyway we should pray for them and hope they change their ways and come to the knowledge of the Lord. Again, I say, it's people like that saying their Christians that give others a bad name. Yet at the same time, sometimes people are just overzealous and really want to get the message through about Jesus.

Christians don't have a right to judge. It says so in the Bible. So if a Christian gave the word of the bible as an excuse to judge, they would contradict themselves and God would probably laugh. No one has a right to judge except God alone.

When has a Christian ever claimed that their judgment would be the decider of whether or not a person goes to hell? Christians believe that by not adhering to at least some of our belief system, like denying the Lord or His Son or committing unforgivable sins without repent, that this can lead to eternal damnation of the soul. But, only the brazen Christians will outright tell a person "you're going to Hell." The rest of us leave it up to God to make that decision, and we'll respect His decision, whatever it may be.

As for our right to declare that eternal life through Christ is the only path to salvation, well read this paragraph again to see why we do it. It's OUR right! Just as it is an atheist's right to claim that we're all idiots for believing in a "fairy tale." Or for a Muslim to claim that only Allah/Muhammad can save your soul. It's our belief, and it's based on our faith. Just because you somehow lost your faith, it doesn't mean that others should follow suit without making an informed decision. I'm sick of these atheists and agnostics who claim that Christians are just mindless drones - incapable of making decisions for ourselves - when they can't even make up their mind WHY they're so mad at God. It's not because of any historical inaccuracies in the Bible, that's just a ploy they use to antagonize those of who still retain our faith. It's hilarious how they accuse us of being narrow-minded and self-righteous bigots...but then go on to use hapless sarcasm (repeatedly and redundantly) to try and hurt our feelings. The biggest difference between them and us is that we know how to forgive, and if we do harbor some sort of grudge, then most of us keep it to ourselves.

True Christians don't tell who is going to hell. God knows the heart and He is the only accurate judge of character. A true Christian is supposed to be a reflector of the attributes of Christ. Don't let these fire and brimstone people scare you into believeing that Jesus is some vindictive tyrant in the sky. The Bible teaches that hellfire will not be some perpetual torture chamber but that it will purify the earth of sin. If you are interested in learning more check out the source below...

Well, first of all, living human beings don't have the ability to judge who goes to hell or otherwise. That is God's province.

They believe, as do other religions, that their way is the right way. It's up to the individual to decide whether he wants to accept this or not. And in the end, it's a matter of faith.

No...I wouldn't say it is solely the Bible. A lot of it comes from human interpretations of holy scripture.

Simple, God said it, I believe it that settles it.
God said Jesus is the way the truth and the life, and the only way to Him is through Jesus, so that must be true. Any other way results in Hell. Not being a judge by telling someone the truth.

Not all Christians do that, but those who do (which are many) will probably cowar in fear and try to talk their way out of it, citing the bible and saying they were doing God's work by spreading the Gospel. God will then laugh in their face as you said. His laugh they will then start to weep.

The more rightous of them will do the smart thing and repent (if its not too late) and bow down at God's feet (if he has any).

If he asks it will imply that he doesn't know, and the universe will undue itself in the contradiction.

But to answer your question. People gave themselves the right to judge others, then looked for validation in the bible. (the bible directly contradicts this way of thinking, but a closed minded person tends to only look at every other word.)
