I don't think there are any rules for this. As many times as people ask you, I guess.

There is no limit on how many times someone can be a bridesmaid. I wonder though if you are talking about how many times as a bridesmaid you need to help a particular bride - just because you said "the" marriage. And that depends on how much the bride needs you, how close you are to her and what you're willing to do to help out with her marriage.
But even so the answer is the same - however many times you can or want.
I had one bridesmaid who has been in, I believe 8 weddings total! But I've never been a bridesmaid before :)

There's no limit to the number of times you can be a bridesmaid. But it get's to be a little sad (and people may pity you) if it looks like that's all you'll ever be.

To Marvinator: After you're married you can't be a bridesMaid, but you can be a Matron of the Bride as many times as you're invited to be.

There is no limit on the number of times you can be a brides maid before your are married, nor any limit AFTER you are married either.

I've was in 12 weddings before I became engaged. There is no limitation to the of times to be in someone's wedding - Maybe only a limit on your wallet! LOL!
