Hey guys! Okay, so I have recently discovered the world of cooking and I am in love. What I want to know is what is the difference between brown eggs and white eggs? Do they taste different? Which one is better in your opinion? Also, any great food websites or recipes you would like to share would be greatly appreciated. It could be any type of recipe. It doesn't have to include eggs. Thanks! Have a great day! :)

Brown eggs come from a home chicken farm and has no steroids or any chemicals in the egg or chicken and White eggs are from chicken farmers they use chemicals and steroids to grow the chicken faster and in my opinion the BROWN eggs are better tasting anyways they are so much richer.

Actually, if you are thinking of pure white eggs, I have some in my fridge at the moment that have been laid by DUCKS. They taste a little stronger than hens' eggs and are very nourishing. In spring I get GOOSE eggs that also are white . They are huge and delicious. The birds are free range and the eggs are bound to be healthier than those of cooped up hens. Otherwise hens eggs have exactly the same degree of nourishment whether they are brown or white. I understand that in the US they favour white eggs but it is purely a matter of colour preference.

I ate brown and or white eggs all of my life, raised chickens since I was a wee bit of a child. Didn't see any difference. Some eggs are jumbo, and perhaps brown eggs may be slightly larger being Jumbo or having two yokes.
They certainly didn't taste any different to me. What you want is fresh eggs, no more than a few days old, or still warm, my job was to gather the eggs, feed the chickens then when they had chicks take care of the chicks. It was fun to have them follow me. I raise one male chick under our kitchen stove, He didn't have a mother hen he had a mother pigeon. He grew up to be a very nasty rooter, and at nine I had him for Easter dinner he actually attacked me. So I grabbed him by the next and told my dad that he had to go.

Just color.
eggs come in many colors and spots
Yes they all taste the same.
I have never had Ostrich or Emu
Remember the yoke reflects what the chicken has been eating lots of grass and green will make the yoke almost red orange but on laying feed a smooth sunshine yellow.
Range feed the yoke will have a stronger taste.
But when it comes to cost Don't be foolish there is little difference.

Brown eggs come from dark colored breeds of chickens, white eggs from light colored breeds of chickens.
Aracana chickens lay blue green eggs, and I had an aracana/dominecker(dark colored) cross that laid olive drab eggs.
The taste is pretty much the same, unless you buy free range chicken eggs which will have a darker (more yellow) yolk and taste better to me.

According to the Egg Nutrition Board (and who should know better?), "White shelled eggs are produced by hens with white feathers and ear lobes. Brown shelled eggs are produced by hens with red feathers and red ear lobes. There is no difference in taste or nutrition between white and brown eggs." As far as your new appreciation for cooking, good for you. The previously listed sites are good. I'll add allrecipes.com.

It's the Rhode Island Red that lays a brown egg while other breeds lay a white egg. Some dispute as to the health value, but if there is any it's minimal.

Brown eggs tend to be a little richer. The yoke is usually a little darker, and there seems to be a stronger egg taste. I can't tell the difference when I use them in recipes, but if I fry one to eat, I can.

There is no difference between the two. The difference is from the breed of chicken that produces the egg.

The only difference is that it comes from a different color chicken. Organic eggs are better, regardless of color. I like www.allrecipes.com to find good recipes.
