The Word is the very essence of life itself. It is not only an emanation from God but it is God himself. It is a sound that can be heard. It is God himself in expression. It is a UNIVERSAL Spirit that can manifest itself to human consciousness.

There are various words translated "word" in English Bibles. The Hebrew dabar also means "thing". The Greek logos also means "reason" and both have various specific connotations.
If you are referring to the Word in John 1:1 then this is a personification of God's speech in creation. This idea in the Judaism of the time and in earliest Christianity overlaps with the concepts of Wisdom and Spirit, and represent God in God's interaction with creation.
A good source for background information is Philo of Alexandria, a Jewish author from the first century who wrote extensively about the Word, and says things comparable to John (e.g. that the Word is "neither uncreated...nor created", just as John says the Word both was with God and was God - this was a both-and rather than an either-or concept in this period).

Yes. Jesus is "the Word" of God.
Joh 1:1 -
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was before all things, and the different characters in which He is a blessing to man, being made flesh. He is, and He is the expression of, the whole mind that subsists in God, the Logos (the word) of God.
