It seems to me that alot of Christains do not really love God, but they do not want to go to hell after they die so they do what it supposedly necessary to avoid the fiery pits of hell. Alot of them talk about dying and going to live with their family members happily ever after in heaven, but that seems a little far-fetched. I imagine that if there is a heaven that those very few who are lucky to go will spend the majority of their time worshipping God, not reuniting and living it up with their family members? Am I wrong? Are Christains really concerned about building a lasting relationship with God or just trying to enjoy heaven after death?

you are so right. I used to be one of those ppl though... i thought that i had to do enough good things to weigh out my bad things before i went to heaven, so i was constantly afraid of hell. I was certainly not a christian, although i read the bible 4 chapters a day (not with much focus though.) Now, i live in love, and while i'm not feeling it too recently, i want to see God GLORIFIED! that's what heaven is about, i think. I also sometimes think, that maybe heaven and hell are the same place, but depending on whether you know Jesus or not, you will either burn in pain or burn in glory.

I don't really think about heaven and hell much right now though... I'm just striving (at present) to get a lot closer to the god who loves me... And it makes me happy, it makes me able to really love people... i love god so much.

O.k listen, there is no such place as Hell. It's rubbish, all the evil we serve here on Earth is a punishment in itself. Life and creation is a forward process, meaning there is no turning back for whatever it is that we have done wrong. Everybody hurt's in there own way, no-matter what the reason is. But as for the after-life we go to Heavan, no where else. The people that say if you sin or if you don't believe in Jesus your going to Hell are people that are probably scared of facing death themselve's and they want people to fear it like they do. I believe in Jesus. And I think Jesus was a fantastic person. But he would never say if you do-not follow me or if you sin your doomed for eternity. That's aload of crap!! We make mistake's, it's normal, if we did'nt then what would be the point or what would be the reason for being here if we were meant to be perfect. Forget whatever religion say's what, go with what your heart say's is right for you. God will tell you where your going wrong after. Maybe there is no real answer to anything. Just go with what you believe in, then that should be good enough. We all find out when we're dead anyway so why spend time worrying about it now?? If we fail God's test to start with, then we have to do it all again until we get it right. For some it may be an eternity, but call that Hell? no. Life is about going forward and learing from your mistake's, if you never do then you never go forward. Ever made the same mistake over and over and gone round in circle's. That's the worst of your so-called Hell. Learn from your mistake's, admit you were wrong, get over it and move on. God will except you in Heavan if you are truly sorry for what you have done. He know's for sure if your not, then he'll send you back, who want's that??

This is one of the refutations of pascal's wager.

"If god exists, it's infinitely better to believe, since you get heaven instead of hell for eternity. If he doesn't, it doesn't matter since you're dead anyway. So overall it's better to believe"

This is, of course, false.

Some of the problems with the argument:

* The implied assumption that god may exist (with a 50% probability, no less!)

* The assumption that there is an afterlife with a heaven and hell

* The assumption that the god cares about belief in him/her above all else

* The assumption that if you believe in a god, it will definitely be the same god that actually exists.

* The assumption that you lose nothing if it's false. You have lost a great deal, from time praying to a nonexistent entity (some people pray several hours a day!!!) to morality (your god may ask you to hurt other people) and much more besides.

* The assumption that people can believe in something simply because it benefits them. Would you believe goblins exist for twenty bucks? Why not?

* The assumption that any god won't see through the "believing just to get into heaven" ploy.

There are many people who do this and God will sort through them they are FALSE Christians, there are more people than you think that believe and God and Worship him and really do connect with him. Those who truly serve and trust in the lord should give their lives to him and worship him everyday not just the day that church falls on...Those who are False Christians will be weeded through and they will face many trials and yes those trials will be like Hell....(It all depends so many people believe many different things...this is just what I believe)

General scenario of HELL: The Devil comes in the morning and beats you and puts you on an electric chair for 5 hours. For the rest of the day you will be laid down on a bed of nails and made to watch I Love Lucy reruns. Those who like soap operas are made to eat the garbage of the actors from their favorite soaps. Hardcore fans may possibly enjoy this, and instead, the garbage is placed tantalizingly close, but... not quite close enough. Beverages may be provided but only in generic form and in severely limited amounts. All food is the same as earth food except it has 33% less sugar.

I believe that hell is now on earth, what man goes through and does to one another. I also believe there is a judgment or life review process when we die, we do not get an automatic ticket to heaven, no matter what the Reverend Dr. Schullers say and will offer to send you.

Pits of hell, don't know .

Many are Christian in name only, and that is evident. It is harder to be (it can seem this way in the beginning) in a relationship with God because you must do an about face on this present age to begin to understand spiritual realities. Many can't part with earthly desires yet and don't understand why they must ever go to battle in that arena.

there is not any such subject as an eternal hell. After many relaxing letters returned and forth for the previous 4 years … self-proclaimed Pastor Butch Paugh remains in denial with regard to the fake coaching of an “eternal punishment in hell” theology through fact he does not be responsive to a thank you to apply, or take it sluggish to learn patiently, a concordance which he liberally touts. This habit of Pastor Butch does greater injury and injury to human beings than stable. This coaching is a lie for which he, Pastor Butch, would be judged even in his lack of information. the actuality is that there is not any such blasphemous concept or coaching to be extracted from an easily translated Bible; God’s notice. I even have been attempting to coach Pastor Butch that God has a plan for the a while yet few be responsive to of this plan through fact the popular Bibles (considering with regard to the third century advert) have been pass over-translated, to boot as custom taught, by using evil adult adult males who proceed to propagate this lie. God is love and He does use evil (He placed the Tree interior the backyard you be responsive to) to effect His perfect restitution of all mankind in due time (yet each and each in his very own order—a million Corinthians 15:23). in case you don’t learn the Bible, with the severe and diligent use of a concordance, you may not coach the authentic love of God and His Son Jesus Christ. Google K7VHQ and click on San Jacinto and communicate with me. in case you think of i'm being too annoying on or advise to Pastor Butch, wait till God gets carry of him. Pastor Butch nevertheless has a gamble to repent (if not in this eon then the impending eons) and learn of and coach the authentic Bible information yet provided that that's God’s will and purpose for him. Pastor Butch makes use of this style of sturdy language too you be responsive to. Joh 3:27 John spoke back and pronounced, "a guy can not get something if it would possibly not settle for him out of heaven. Rom 11:36 considering the fact that out of Him and by using Him and for Him is all: to Him be the vast distinction for the eons! Amen!

Your repentence and being saved has to be sincere. God knows the heart of every person and whether they are sincere in their beliefs.

Matthew 7:21 says "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

I truly believe that God knows who is his true believers. Being a Christian is not something you can fake. You can't get to heaven on false pretenses or even good intentions. It has to be what is truly in your heart.
