Fundamentalists..I really want to know your view.

You quote the Bible as saying that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God and that homosexuality is an abomination...and that people are not born that way.

However, hermaphrodites...are irrefutably "born that way".

Which sex do they mate with to avoid being gay and sinning?

Will you answer the question directly please?

#1 it’s no ones place to decide what is a sin and what is not. Only god can decide that
#2 hermaphrodites are born the way God chose (it says He knows us even in our mother’s womb) how can we say something He created is imperfect or wrong? How can something He made have the wrong sexuality?

You ask hard questions but it all comes down to what is in that person’s heart, if it’s a sin or not. And as far as people saying they are sinning, that’s their opinion. God is the only one that can say what's a sin or not.

Hermaphradites are both with both sets of genetalia but they still have a predominate sex. When the predominate sex is discovered there is surgery done to correct the genetalia. Being a hermaphrodite does not have to dictate sexuality any more than having an extra finger does. It is a birth defect.

Homosexualtiy is an abomination to God. Many people try to say that homosexuals were born that way but they are not they have a familiar spirit of sexual perversion. It is a stronghold and a spirit that they can be delivered from. They are exposed to that spirit at some point in their life.

Notice how no one's really answered your question? It's because no one really knows. They talk about gender reassignment surgery but what about all the hermaphrodites born before surgery was a safe and viable option? What about hermaphrodites who truly do not have a more predominant gender as is sometimes the case? This is why the Bible is just not a useful tool to be taken literally today. It was a useful tool for most people in most common predicaments 2,000 years ago. However, it clearly has shown that it cannot apply to every single person in every single scenario as Christians would have you believe.

Fundamentalists who claim to worship Jesus as THE LIVING WORD but instead worship the bible as the LIVING WORD, and are preoccupied with all kinds of legalistic applications of scripture like true Pharasees, will have a difficult time with this question. (As I am sure you intended them to have)

The TRUTH is that there are many things the bible does NOT deal with or cover sufficiently to make rules about today. In addition, we are also to use our common sense and recognize the bible was written by men and reflects the thinking of that age and the culture of that age certain aspects of which in today's world would be considred ignorant or inhumane.

This does NOT mean that the bible cannot also be Divinely inspired, which the bible IS. It clearly reflects Divine and universal wisdom that extends BEYOND, culture, time, history and that is sufficient to guide you to Christ who is the ONLY TRUE LIVING WORD.

If you are a slave to the bible and use it to try and predict God's mind on EVERYTHING, you will be in trouble because there are many things (and as civilization gets more knowledge of the earth there will be MANY more) it does not cover. For example hermaphrodites.

BUT

When you have Christ as your guide, your law, your operating principle and you are not a slave to the application of biblical laws, then questions like yours pose NO problem at all.

I am not a fundamentalist. I am a Christian and I know
Jesus loves hermaphrodites and wants them to be happy and fulfilled. We are to treat them the way we would like to be treated according to the Golden Rule. As far as who they choose to love, we are not to judge but let God judge.

I hope that answer explains things from a non-fundamentalist POV. I too await a response from a fundamentalist on the subject.

Ideally, a team of healthcare professionals with expertise in intersex should work together to understand and treat the child with intersex - and to understand, counsel, and support the entire family.

Parents should understand controversies and changes in treating intersex in recent years. In the past, the prevailing opinion was that it was generally best to assign a gender as quickly as possible, often based on the external genitals rather than the chromosomal gender, and to instruct the parents to have no ambiguity in their minds as to the gender of the child. Prompt surgery was often recommended. Ovarian or testicular tissue from the other gender would be removed. In general, it was considered easier to reconstruct female genitalia than functioning male genitalia, so if the 'correct' choice was not clear, the child was often assigned to be a girl.

More recently, the opinion of many experts has shifted. Greater respect for the complexities of female sexual functioning has led them to conclude that suboptimal female genitalia may not be inherently better than suboptimal male genitalia, even if the reconstruction is 'easier'. In addition, other factors may be more important in gender satisfaction than functioning external genitals. Chromosomal, neural, hormonal, psychological, and behavioral factors can all influence gender identity.

Many experts now urge delaying definitive surgery for as long as healthy, and ideally involving the child in the gender decision.

Clearly, intersex is a complex issue, and its treatment has short and long-term consequences. The best answer will depend on many factors, including the specific cause of the intersex. It is best to take the time to understand the issues before rushing into a decision. An intersex support group may help acquaint families with the latest research, and may provide a community of other families, children, and adult individuals who have faced the same issues.

Fundamentalist, I'm not. Just offerred some info. Surgery is performed in the majority of cases of intersex.

Does it really matter what the fundamentalists think anyway?

Most hermaphrodites are surgically assigned to one gender or the other when they are very young. Those whose genitalia remain "ambiguous" would be encouraged to chose one gender or another, then live faithfully in that gender.

Just because they may physically function as both does not mean they should. Similar would be a bi-sexual man or woman, though physical limitations apply to them.

"Thou shalt not commit adultery" covers the church's view of ALL expressions of sexuality. God is not the author of confusion, in spite of the universality of temptations.

Hermaphrodites have a privileged choice to choose the gender in which they are the most comfortable and complete.

Well, I know a hermaphrodite and he is a lovely man, totally uninterested in sex. Sex outisde marriage is forbidden, so if you accept the person as a woman, then she can marry a man. Maybe they can have a choice - I want to marry a man - and that would be acceptable.
Really, people do get bogged down in their own thinking, don't they?

Why do you get into a vague topic called SINNING. You will never be able to satisfy your ego with any answer you get in this forum or from anyone. Forget about SINNING concept and understand the hermaphrodite concept in-terms of evolutionary process, you will understand the facts more better that way...

Where do all of you morons come from, anyway? Do you consider yourself enlightened? Even the slightest bit? Do you think that someone born with both sex organs, and often both underdeveloped sex organs, want to answer to you about sin? Go bury our head under another rock for the next century.

Do you mean lying, stealing or cheating? Then I suppose it would depend on the individuals morals.

Or something of a carnal nature, then I suppose it would be a glandular thing and some hermaphrodites just don't get those feelings.
