If that is really you Sandra, then I salute you. The subject of your question, though, is a little ascerbic.
We humans seem to specialise in building each other up, and then letting each other down again.
I didn't 'know' Mama Cass, but one of her earliest songs was closely related to my earliest clumsy encounters with the opposite gender ! And thus she remains close to my heart, and her amazing voice has not stilled for me.
I did wonder many times if she was really happy in the role that she, and life, caste for her, and the song that contained the words "and no-one's getting fat 'cept Mama Cass" was actually painful for me to listen to, if you can believe that anyone could be so ridiculously over-sensitive.
Her death, like so many wonderful people was sad, and, apparently all too familiarly lonely. And for someone who gave so much pleasure to so many, that is a great shame ...... more on us than on Cass herself.
That there were many so eager and ready to jump on the 'bandwagon' of her demise, is again, sadly typical. You mentioned Marilyn, and I could cite Jimi, Janis, and an endless succession of similar cases, what of Vincent van Gogh, what greater example of our human hypocrisy, a man, one of the greatest visionaries of all time, dies in miserable poverty, yet a few spins of the human home planet and the wealthiest people in this world are buying his paintings for astronomic sums !
So....what do you want people to shout "Stop !" to, Sandra ?
Stop muscling in on my territory just because it gets interesting ( not to mention potentially profitable ).
or
Stop being so mean to people when their 'star' is on the decline.
I say the latter should take precedence over the former, but I haven't devoted my life to the chronicling of the movie and music stars in the way that you have.
Either way, please know that many have appreciated your works, even if you haven't always felt that this was so.
Oh, and a post scriptum for 'God' - That really was very funny, and subtle, even. But I couldn't give it a thumbs up because of the context....you naughty little deity, you.

Mama Cass did not choke on a ham sandwich, and Karen Carpenter would have died of heart failure even if she started eating every ham sandwich in the world. Anorexia has life-long effects on your health.

We noticed that the Papas all came to Mama's aid, huh?
Mankind will always let mankind down. That's why we need a Savior who will never let us down, nor abuse us.
