My boyfriend has really bad posture, like his upper back it’s kinda hunched. Anyone know of ways to correct this, I could stand to straighten up a bit too. I think it’s all the video games we play and being on the computer all the time.

Pilates, seek out a Pliates Exercise Course and I guarantee you, not only will it correct all bad posture, it will also be more enjoyable than video games.

My dad wore them for a while but that didn't help him. Weakness in the back can be genetic so I was supposed to be careful. My solution is yoga, hatha yoga. This definitely strengthens your back and corrects your posture. I've been doing yoga for two years now (short sessions about thrice weekly) and I'd say my posture is as good as it has ever been. There are specific postures that help you strengthen specific back muscles, but I find the basic 'sun salutation' a great all round set. Do give it a try, you'll be surprised. When I started, I couldn't even touch my toes, so don't worry if you are out of shape. Look for a hatha-yoga class, and enjoy!

There are a couple of thing you can try. First,
1. pretend there is a string connected to your chest right at your breastbone. Someone above you is pulling it up.

2. pretend you have to hold a tennis ball between your shoulder blades.

3. bring your chin back (not down) it should feel good not hurt. Keep your head at a level place and feel your neck bones relax.

Just keep these visualizations in mind as often as possible. When you are walking or sitting at the computer practice these little things and your posture should improve. The shoulder blades may hurt for a while as they are the ones that need strengthening and those back muscles are weak. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Bad posture effects more than your health, it gives people the impression that you're not confident or educated.

The most extreme posture correctors are corsets, but maybe when you play, sit in a chair with good back support that forces your body to align, with your feet on the floor and raise the t.v. to eye level so your head doesn't drop.

Tell him to stand straight, at times we are so use to doing it... that unless someone mention, you body thinks is okay. Believe me as you get older it gets worst...so try to keep him on his toes starting now.
