The dew point is not only for water, although it is the most common application. The dew point is the temperature AND pressure that a gas first begins to condense. It is when that first droplet appears. For water vapor, you will need a psychrometric chart. Certain parameters must be set such as wet bulb and dry bulb temp. Relative and absolute humidity will play a role as well.

If you need to calculate the dew point, you need a pyschometric chart and at least 2 of the following, dry bulb temperature, wet bulb temperature and/or relative humidity.

Dewpoint is the temperature at which water vapor begins to condense out of the air. As such, it's also a measure of relative humidity.
